NEW YORK - Temple's Kerrie Lorenz earns the Owls' first BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week award since 2014 after helping Temple to a 2-0 opening weekend, ringing in new head coach Susan Ciufo's reign. Connecticut senior back Antonia Tiedtke earns Defensive Player of the Week accolades after working the ball on both sides of the line. Liberty newcomer Daniella Rhodes is named Freshman of the Week with a four-point game against James Madison.

BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week
Kerrie Lorenz, Temple, RS-Fr., M (Virginia Beach, Va.)

Temple redshirt freshman Kerrie Lorenz tallied five points, 2.50 per game, to lead the BIG EAST in scoring early in the season. Lorenz scored two goals and an assist in Temple's 2-0 opening weekend against Merrimack, 3-0, and La Salle, 3-0. She assisted the eventual game-winner against La Salle and scored an insurance goal in the 50th minute, unassisted. Lorenz opened the weekend scoring the second goal against Merrimack. Lorenz posted seven shots. The two victories already match Temple's win total from 2018.

BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week
Antonia Tiedtke, Connecticut, Sr., Back (Frankfurt, Germany)
Connecticut senior back Antonia Tiedtke helped the No. 4 Huskies succeed on both sides of the field during a 2-0 opening weekend against No. 15 Northwestern and No. 21 Stanford. Tiedtke helped limit ranked opponents to just 13 shots and three goals on the weekend. She helped anchor a defense that held Northwestern to seven shots, Stanford to six. Tiedtke also helped offensively with four points off one goal and two assists. In a 4-1 win over No. 15 Northwestern, Tiedkte tallied an assist on a penalty corner goal. Against No. 21 Stanford, she had an assist on the tying goal at 40:16 and scored the game winner at 53:20.

BIG EAST Freshman of the Week
Daniella Rhodes, Liberty, Fr., F (Durban South Africa)
Liberty rookie forward Daniella Rhodes tallied four points on a goal and two assists in the Flames 5-1 opening win over local-rival James Madison. Rhodes' four points were a team high. She scored the third goal of the outing, on a reverse shot, to put No. 20 Liberty up 3-0 over the Dukes. She went on to assist Liberty's final two goals of the game. She led the team with five shots. Rhodes' four-point game ranked second highest in the BIG EAST after the opening weekend. Her initial goal made ESPN SportsCenter's Top 10 plays Sunday night.

BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll
Ellie Maransky, Georgetown, Fr., M/F (Blue Bell, Pa.)
Maransky scored two goals and added an assist in Georgetown's 5-2 win over Davidson. Maransky's five-point performance led the league last weekend.
Lydia Rice, Providence, Grad., GK (Carle Place, N.Y.)
Rice marked 12 saves in goal for Providence as she faced two ranked opponents in No. 13 Boston College and No. 24 Maine. Rice went 1-1 on the weekend, with five saves in a 2-1 loss to BC and seven saves in a 5-4 overtime win against Maine. She faced a total of 18 shots in the game and also saved a penalty-stroke opportunity in the third quarter.
Megan Vermeil, Villanova, Sr., F (Downingtown, Pa.)
Vermeil helped Villanova to a season-opening victory over Sacred Heart as she scored the game-winning goal in the final seconds to help the Wildcats win 3-2. Vermeil also assisted the goal in the 21st minute which tied the game at 1-1.
