BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week
Yudai Tashiro, Creighton, Sr., M (Tokyo, Japan)

Creighton senior midfielder Yudai Tashiro had a foot on three goals of Creighton’s 2-0 week. Tashiro started the week for the Bluejays scoring the golden goal in a 4-3 double overtime victory over Tulsa. The goal was scored in the 106th minute, helping Creighton to its first overtime victory since 2017. Yashiro also assisted the first goal in that contest, helping tie it up at 1-1 in the 53rd minute. On Saturday, Tashiro also helped set up the eventual game-winning goal in the ninth minute with a cross into the box. Tashiro’s four-point week tied for league-most this week.
 
BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week
Rafael Bustamante, St. John’s, Jr., D (Corona, N.Y.)
St. John’s junior defender Rafael Bustamente  did not step off the pitch during a two game week for St. John’s. The Red Storm defense conceded just one goal in nearly 200 minutes of action. Bustamante helped St. John’s stay undefeated in BIG EAST play with a 1-0 shutout victory over Butler in Indianapolis, limiting Butler to just seven shots, three of which were on goal. Also played a large role in keeping defending national champion Maryland off the board until the 109th minute.
 
BIG EAST Goalkeeper of the Week
Jackson Weyman, Marquette, RS-Fr., GK (Evanston, Ill.)
Marquette redshirt freshman Jackson Weyman guided his team to two key road wins last week with his stellar efforts in goal. On Tuesday evening, he stopped two shots against Wisconsin on the way to his second clean sheet of the season. The Golden Eagles defeated Wisconsin 2-0. On Friday night, Marquette finished a come-from-behind victory on the road at Xavier. Weyman allowed just one goal in 90 minutes, stopping four attempts to preserve the victory for Marquette. It was the first road win for Marquette over Xavier since 2013.
 
BIG EAST Freshman of the Week
Christian Marquez, Marquette, Fr., F (Berwyn, Ill.)
Marquette freshman forward Christian Marquez netted two game-winning goals in a 2-0 week for the Golden Eagles. They were his first two goals of the season. Marquez scored in the 37th minute on the road against Wisconsin, which would end up the eventual decider in a 2-0 victory. At Xavier on Friday, Marquez completed the comeback with a goal in the 77th minute.
 
BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll
Gabriel Gjergji, Butler, So., G
Gjergji earned the win in Butler’s 2-1 triumph over No. 5 Indiana on Tuesday night. He made five saves, including a key stop on the first half penalty kick. In Butler’s 1-0 loss to No. 9 St. John’s, Gjergi made three stops.
Musa Qongo, Creighton, Jr., D
Qongo recorded three assists during the week, including one on the game-winning goal against Villanova. Two of his assists came in the 4-3 double overtime win over Tulsa.
Derek Dodson, Georgetown, Jr., F
In Georgetown’s  2-1 victory over Providence on Saturday, Dodson had a foot on both scores, scoring the first goal at 47:28, then assisting the second in the 75th minute. He took two shots in Georgetown’s 1-0 double overtime loss to No. 17 Louisville on Tuesday.
Jan Hoffelner, St. John’s, Jr., G
Hoffelner logged 135 minutes of scoreless work between the pipes for St. John’s, held defending national champion Maryland off the board for the first half of the Red Storm’s game in College Park before shutting out Butler in SJU’s road opener. He recorded the first solo shutout by a Red Storm keeper this season, made one save against the Terps, three against Butler.
Stephen Elias, Seton Hall, Grad, F
Elias had three points last week for the 2-0 Pirates. On Tuesday at NJIT, he assisted on a key SHU insurance goal, making it a two-goal match in the second half. On Saturday, Elias tallied the game-winner in the 86th minute to break a 1-1 tie against DePaul.
