BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week
Samson Sergi, Xavier, RS-Sr., F (Ashburn, Va.)
Xavier redshirt senior Samson Sergi scored three goals to lead the league in points last week as the then-No. 14 Musketeers went 2-0 with victories against Eastern Illinois (3-0) and at Cincinnati (2-1). Sergi scored the eventual game winning goal in the 33rd minute against the Bearcats, XU’s in-city rival. Sergi’s goal gave Xavier a two-goal cushion. His two goals against Easter Illinois came in the 69th and 74th minutes.
BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week
Sean O’Hearn, Georgetown, Jr., D (Mountville, Pa.)
Georgetown junior defender Sean O’Hearn played 172 minutes of back-to-back shutouts for the then-No.6 Hoyas, 3-0 over Temple and 1-0 at U.C. Irvine. O’Hearn helped Georgetown limit their opponents to 15 shots, eight on goal. O’Hearn also assisted the game-winning goal in the 86th minute against the Anteaters, his first career point.
BIG EAST Goalkeeper of the Week
Carson Williams, Villanova, RS-So., GK (Plano, Texas)
Villanova redshirt sophomore Carson Williams posted two shutout wins last week as the Wildcats improved to 3-0 on the season. Williams totaled six saves last week, three in key moments to keep the match against Temple deadlocked at zero ahead of the game-winning goal scored in the 69th minute. Williams has posted four straight shutouts dating to the 2018 regular season finale, a 1-0 win over Seton Hall.
BIG EAST Freshman of the Week
Dominic Briggs, Creighton, RS- Fr., F (Oconomowoc, Wis.)
Creighton freshman forward Dominic Briggs converted the game winner less than two minutes after entering as a sub in the first half of Creighton’s 2-1 Socctoberfest victory over then-No. 21 Akron on Friday night. It was Briggs’ second goal of the season. Briggs’ goal was scored in the 37th minute, helping Creighton to its first win over a ranked opponent this season.
BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll
Brandon Guhl, Butler, Sr., F
Guhl scored two goals in a 1-1 week for Butler. He has scored a goal in each of Butler’s three contests. Guhl found the net in the 64th minute against Evansville in Butler’s 2-0 win. In Friday’s 2-1 loss at Marshall, he scored the lone goal.
Brayden Callipari, DePaul, Jr., D
Callipari scored the overtime goal in the win over Western Michigan on Friday, helping the Blue Demons to a 1-0 win on their first road trip of the season.
Trevor Davock, Providence, Sr., F
Davock scored twice in a 1-1 week for the Friars. He scored the game winner against Albany in the 50th minute in a 1-0 win for Providence on Friday. Davock scored the lone goal in a 2-1 loss to New Hampshire.
Brandon Knapp, St. John’s, So., F
Knapp scored his first career goal, the game-winner, in the Red Storm’s 3-0 win over Manhattan on Friday. He helped the Red Storm improve to 3-0-0 for the first time since 2008.
Matthew Rosenberg, Xavier, RS-Jr., GK
Rosenberg helped No. 14 Xavier post a 2-0 record last week with wins over Eastern Illinois (3-0) and Cincinnati (2-1). He posted a 0.50 goals against average with seven saves in 180 minutes of action with a .875 save percentage. Rosenberg also had two assists last week and has only allowed one goal this season.
