Marquette 73, Georgetown 51
Isabelle Spingola scored a game-high 24 points and Marquette outscored Georgetown 42-17 in the second and fourth quarters to clinch its fifth BIG EAST win of the season. Down three after the first quarter, the host Golden Eagles doubled up the Hoyas 24-12 in the second frame to take a nine-point lead into the break. After each squad scored 18 in the third, Marquette held Georgetown to just five fourth-quarter points to pull away. Selena Lott (17) and Lauren Van Kleunen (12) joined Spingola in double figures for MU, while Marvellous Osagie-Erese scored 10 points in 17 minutes of action for Georgetown.

Butler 50, Providence 47
The Bulldogs scored 22 points off 26 Friar miscues to win for the fifth time in the last six outings. Earlette Scott scored 11 of her team-high 13 points in the final quarter as Providence erased an eight-point deficit and led midway through the frame. Oumou Toure scored six of her game-high 14 points over the final 10 minutes to thwart the Friars’ comeback bid, however, adding three assists and seven rebounds for the Bulldogs. PC won the rebounding battle, 46-35, as Mary Baskerville (12) and Alyssa Geary (10) each corralled double-digit boards, while Butler’s Kristen Spolyar made up for an off shooting night with 10 rebounds and four assists.

11/12 DePaul 85, Villanova 69
The Blue Demons won their ninth in a row and remained unscathed (8-0) in BIG EAST play, stretching the gap between first- and second-place teams to three games. Sonya Morris scored a career-high 30 points off 12-of-23 shooting, adding six rebounds and five assists. Morris was one of four Blue Demons in double figures, including Lexi Held who reached the 20-point mark (21) for the fifth time this season. Villanova saw three score in double figures, including a team-high 20 points by Mary Gedaka. DePaul used a 27-point third quarter to stretch its nine-point halftime lead. The Blue Demons drained 10 shots from deep, marking their 12
th game of the year with double-digit triples.

Creighton 62, Xavier 55
Temi Carda scored in double figures for the seventh time in the last eight outings, going for a game-high 26 as Creighton scored a home win over Xavier. Ayanna Townsend had a career night for the Musketeers with 14 points and a game-high 14 rebounds, while Creighton’s Carly Bachelor also notched a double-double with 17 points and 10 boards. Trailing by two at intermission, the Bluejays went on an 8-0 spurt early in the third quarter to take a five-point lead which was extended to six by the end of the frame. Free-throws proved decisive down the stretch with Creighton sinking 10-of-14 to Xavier’s 1-for-5 clip in the final quarter.
