Marquette 66, St. John's 62
The lead changed hands four times in the fourth quarter alone but it was the host Golden Eagles who erased a seven-point deficit to stretch its BIG EAST home unbeaten streak to 12 games. The game was tied with 1:45 to go and St. John’s led with under a minute to play, but five straight points by Marquette, including the go-ahead Lauren Van Kleunen bucket with 52 seconds remaining, clinched the win for the home team. The Red Storm’s Leilani Correa scored a game-high 31 points, her second game of 30-plus points this season, while reigning BIG EAST Player of the Week Selena Lott notched 21 to lead the Golden Eagles. St. John’s (2-4, 0-2 BIG EAST) became just the third team to outrebound Marquette (5-1, 2-0) since 2019-20, winning the battle off the glass 37-33. MU otherwise controlled the inside game, scoring 42 of its 66 points inside the paint while shooting nearly 46 percent from the field.
