Butler edges Villanova behind Kristen Spolyar’s 25 points, while DePaul, Marquette and Georgetown pick up double-digit victories.

Butler 63, Villanova 61  
Butler won its eighth game in its last nine contests with a 63-61 victory over visiting Villanova. Kristen Spolyar’s 25 points, eight rebounds and six steals lifted the Bulldogs over the Wildcats in a back-and-forth affair. After an early 13-2 run to open the game by VU, Butler stormed back and tied the game at 35 entering the half. The teams found themselves tied once again with 1:20 left in the fourth quarter until a Naira Caceres bucket and two Spolyar free throws clinched the victory for BU. Oumou Toure stuffed the stat sheet with 13 points, seven rebounds, and four steals. Mary Gedaka and Maddy Siegrist led the way for Villanova with 21 points apiece, with Gedaka notching a game-high 13 rebounds to earn a double-double.

14/14 DePaul 86, Seton Hall 76
No. 14/14 DePaul maintained its lead atop the BIG EAST standings with an 86-76 win at Seton Hall. Chante Stonewall’s career-high 29 points paced the Blue Demons who saw all five starters finish in double figures. Fellow senior Kelly Campbell notched a double-double with 11 points and 13 rebounds to go along with six assists. DePaul led by 10 at halftime before the Pirates went on an 11-5 run to cut the deficit to three heading into the final period. Freshman Mya Jackson led three Pirates in double figures with 19 points, followed by senior Shadeen Samuels with 18 points. DePaul out-rebounded The Hall 47-24 and scored 16 second-chance points.

Marquette 67, St. John's 57  
Marquette picked up its ninth win of the conference season by way of a second-half surge to take down St. John’s 67-57. Tied at halftime, the Golden Eagles outscored the Red Storm 18-8 in the third quarter to create separation. Altia Anderson led four Golden Eagles in double figures with 15 points on 7-of-7 shooting from the field. Isabelle Spingola and Chloe Marotta chipped in 11 points apiece. MU held a 41-29 advantage on the glass with Spingola grabbing a team-high eight boards. Alisha Kebbe led the Red Storm with 11 points with Qadashah Hoppie and Leilani Correa chipping in 10 apiece.

Georgetown 63, Xavier 50  
Georgetown used a 20-10 advantage in the fourth quarter to pick up a 63-50 road win at Xavier. After leading by seven after the opening period, Xavier made a push in the second and third quarters to cut the deficit to three before the Hoyas turned in a 20-point fourth quarter performance. Taylor Barnes led GU in scoring with 18 points in addition to pulling down five rebounds and dishing out four assists. Brianna Jones was one of two Hoyas to post a double-double with 16 points and 12 rebounds, while Nikola Kovacikova chipped in 10 points and 10 boards. For Xavier, A’riana Gray posted a double-double with 14 points and 14 boards while rookie Morgan Sharps knocked down three triples to record 13 points.
