Creighton 71, Omaha 51
A 14-2 run to open the fourth quarter helped Creighton (1-1) pick up its first win of the season on Saturday at D.J. Sokol Arena. Lauren Jensen led three Bluejays in double figures with 16 points, while Carly Bachelor added 13 and Tatum Rembao chipped in 11. Creighton more than doubled up Omaha in the fourth, 28-12, to pull away late.

Providence 66, Maine 61 OT
Providence (1-1) went to overtime for the second-straight game to start the season and earned a 66-61 victory at Maine on Saturday. Providence started the game 1-13 from the field and overcame a 17-point deficit to take the win. In her second game in a Friar uniform, Janai Crooms erupted for 18 points, a career-best 19 rebounds, five assists and two steals. Emily Archibald scored a team-best 20 points off 8-of-14 shooting. PC overcame its cold shooting start to finish with a 42.9-percent clip from the field.

Utah 106, Xavier 71
Xavier (0-2) played its second straight road game and fell at Utah on Saturday afternoon. Three Musketeers scored in double figures, with Shelby Calhoun posting a team-best 13 points. The Utes shot .521 and drained 14 three-pointers to pull away from Xavier. The Musketeers shot .367 and were 25-of-32 from the charity stripe, including five made freebies apiece by Calhoun, Shaila Beeler and Mackayla Scarlett.

Western Illinois 73, Butler 46
Western Illinois outscored Butler 20-9 in the first quarter and never looked back to record their first win of the season, Saturday at Hinkle Fieldhouse. The Leathernecks hit 16 3-pointers against the Bulldogs to collect a 73-46 victory. BU (0-2) shot 27 percent from the field and 17 percent from long range to move to 0-2 on the year. Butler was led by Emilia Sexton with 10 points. Trinity White came off the bench to add eight.

Fordham 82, Seton Hall 63
Playing in her first game in a Pirate uniform, Sidney Cooks scored a team-high 21 points to go with nine rebounds, but Seton Hall (1-1) fell to Fordham, 82-63, on Saturday at Walsh Gym. After trailing by as many as 14 points in the first half, The Hall used a 12-1 run late in the third quarter to cut its deficit to only two points. But the Pirates never got closer. Cooks was an efficient 10-for-15 from the field and drained a three-pointer in her first action of the season. Andra Espinoza-Hunter finished with 20 points, 14 in the second half, and was 4-for-6 from three-point range. She also grabbed seven rebounds.

RV/RV DePaul 87, Loyola Chicago 53
Five Blue Demons finished in double figures as DePaul improved to 2-0 on the young season with a win over crosstown foe Loyola. Sonya Morris scored a game-high 23 points off 11-of-14 shooting, while Darrione Rogers tallied a double-double with 13 points and 11 boards. Freshman standout Aneesah Morrow tacked on 11 points and nine rebounds. DePaul assisted on 23 of 35 made field goals and totaled 12 steals. DePaul has beaten its first two opponents by an average of 38.5 points.

Georgetown 86, Salem 48
The Hoyas (2-0) cruised to an 86-48 win in their home opener thanks to 73 rebounds and .493 shooting. Three Georgetown players finished in double figures, with Jillian Archer notching game highs of 14 points and 13 rebounds. Kelsey Ransom flirted with a triple-double with eight points, seven rebounds and 11 assists. Georgetown never trailed in the contest.

Marquette 90, NJIT 58
Marquette used 22 points from Karissa McLaughlin and a near triple-double from Chloe Marotta to defeat NJIT, 90-58, on Friday evening at the Al McGuire Center. The Golden Eagles (2-0) broke free from an early 4-3 deficit to cruise to their second win of the season behind 50.7% shooting from the floor (35-of-69). McLaughlin posted her second-straight 20-point performance and Lauren Van Kleunen added 16 points. Marotta notched a career-best eight assists on the night and added eight rebounds and 11 points in 22 minutes of action. She was 7-of-10 from the floor in the win.

#4/5 Maryland 88, Villanova 67
The Wildcats trailed by just three 2:10 into the second quarter on Friday night when the host Terrapins went on a 10-0 run. VU (0-2) got within seven with less than two minutes to go in the first half, but No. 4 Maryland closed the frame on a 9-2 run to bump its lead back up to double figures where it would remain the rest of the game. Brianna Herlihy led three Wildcats in double figures with 16 points, while Lior Garzon added 15.
