Paige Bueckers scored a career-high 34 points off 15-of-19 shooting as No. 2/2 UConn opened the season with a home win over RV/RV Arkansas on Sunday at the XL Center. Christyn Williams added 18 points and Evina Westbrook had 15 for the Huskies, who avenged the only regular-season loss the team had last year. UConn led by 10 at the half before scoring the first seven points of the third quarter to pull away. The Huskies shot .569 on the afternoon while limiting the Razorbacks to a .387 clip.

Stony Brook 72, St. John's 60
After leading 21-20 at the end of the first quarter, St. John’s (1-1) was outscored 20-8 in the second as Stony Brook took a lead it would not relinquish. Leilani Correa paced the Johnnies in scoring with 18 points. Dating back to last season, Correa has finished in double figures in 10 of her last 15 games. After trailing by 19 early in the third, the Red Storm closed within 10 in the closing moments of the quarter. The Seawolves responded with an 8-0 run to pull away.
