The Blue Demons led wire-to-wire in their Paradise Jam debut on Thursday, hanging on to defeat Rutgers 77-74. DePaul outscored Rutgers 24-14 in the first quarter and led by as many as 18 in the second quarter before the Scarlet Knights mounted a comeback to make it a single-digit game from the 6:47 mark in the third quarter on. Lexi Held scored a team-high 16 points while Kierra Collier scored 14 in her DePaul debut. The Drake transfer added six boards in 23 minutes of action.

USC 79, Seton Hall 65
Sidney Cooks scored a game-high 21 points and Lauren Park-Lane added 18, but the Seton Hall fell to USC in its Cancun Challenge opener, 79-65, on Thursday. After a nearly even first half, USC opened the third quarter with a massive 22-4 run.  They held the Pirates to just one field goal in a game-changing first 6:55 of the third frame. Cooks was brilliant pouring in 21 points and was 3-for-5 from three-point range.  She also had five rebounds, two steals and a block.

Marquette tips off Friday action at noon ET against Middle Tennessee in its first game of the Daytona Beach Invitational. The Blue Demons follow at 3:15 p.m. in its second game in St. Thomas, U.S.V.I., when it faces No. 9/12 Arizona in a game streaming on ESPN+.
