DePaul’s Morrow Sweeps #BIGEASTwbb Weekly Honors

Freshman forward Aneesah Morrow notched three straight double-doubles in a 3-0 week for the Blue Demons.

Freshman phenom Aneesah Morrow averaged 19.7 points and 13.0 rebounds in a 3-0 week for RV/- DePaul, which extended its winning streak to seven games. The forward posted three straight double-doubles, capped by a 29-point, 14-rebound showing in Sunday’s BIG EAST win at St. John’s. Earlier in the week, Morrow tallied 14 points and 10 boards in a win over Nicholls State, followed by 16 points and 15 rebounds against Northern Illinois. Morrow’s eight double-doubles on the year lead all BIG EAST players. Her 18.7 points per game ranks third in the BIG EAST, while her 12.2 rebounds per game is tops in the league and ranks in the top 10 nationally. Morrow is just the fifth player in league history to sweep the awards, joining the likes of UConn’s Paige Bueckers (Feb. 8 & 15, 2021), Villanova’s Maddy Siegrist (Dec. 23, 2019), Marquette’s Allazia Blockton (Feb. 15, 2016) and UConn’s Maya Moore (March 4, 2008).
