An early back-and-forth battle turned in favor of the host Blue Demons after they tallied 28 points in the third quarter to pull away from Xavier. DePaul (7-2, 2-0 BIG EAST) reached the century mark in points for the second straight game thanks to 14 made three-pointers, with Darrione Rogers draining six. Aneesah Morrow posted game highs of 24 points and 19 rebounds to lead the Blue Demons, while Nia Clark’s 19 points led four Musketeers (3-5, 0-2) in double figures.

2/2 UConn 73, 24/25 Notre Dame 54
The Huskies led by 10 points at halftime and by 12 early in the second half, but Notre Dame used a 6-2 run to cut the lead to 51-44 headed into the fourth quarter. The Huskies took over from there. A 3-pointer from Paige Bueckers made it 56-44 and UConn scored the first 13 points of the final quarter to put the game away. Bueckers finished with 22 points while Olivia Nelson-Ododa added 14 points and 13 rebounds for the Huskies (5-1, 1-0), who dominated underneath, outrebounding Notre Dame 45-32, and outscored the Fighting Irish 28-16 in the paint.

Marquette 59, Butler 45
The Golden Eagles overcame shooting woes to remain undefeated in BIG EAST play with a home win over Butler on Sunday afternoon. MU shot just .299 for the game while Butler finished with a .381 clip, including a .429 mark in the second half when they knotted the game midway through the third quarter. Tied at 34-34 with 4:26 left in the third, Marquette (6-2, 2-0) went on a decisive 11-0 run while keeping the Bulldogs off the scoreboard for more than five-and-a-half minutes. MU’s Lauren Van Kleunen and Karissa McLaughlin tied for the game high with 15 points apiece, while Butler (0-8, 0-2) was led by Celena Taborn’s 14-point, 10-rebound double-double.

St. John's 88, Seton Hall 75
St. John's remained undefeated at home on Sunday afternoon, producing its second-highest scoring output of the season with an 88-75 win over Seton Hall to kick off BIG EAST play. Seton Hall (3-4, 0-2) scored the first bucket of the game for its lone lead before St. John’s (4-4, 1-0) tallied 22 points over the first 10 minutes to lead by eight after one. The Pirates got within five early in the third before SJU pulled away. St. John’s Leilani Correa scored a game-high 24 points, while SHU’s Lauren Park-Lane tallied 23 along with a game-high seven assists.

Georgetown 55, Providence 47
Kelsey Ransom’s game-high 21 points sparked Georgetown (4-4, 1-1) to its first BIG EAST win of the season, topping host Providence (4-5, 1-1) on Sunday afternoon. The Hoyas led by as many as eight in the first half before the Friars rallied in the third quarter to take the lead midway through the frame. Trailing by one late in the third, GU scored seven straight to retake the lead which it never relinquished. Alyssa Geary scored 14 points for Providence.

Creighton 72, Villanova 58
Lauren Jensen scored a career-high 23 points to lead Creighton past Villanova on Sunday afternoon.
Jensen was one of four Bluejays in double-figures, which has won four games in a row for the fifth time in 20 seasons under Jim Flanery. Creighton (5-2, 2-0) shot .481 on the afternoon, including nine three pointers, to lead form the 4:34 mark in the first quarter on. Zanai Jones paced the Wildcats (3-5, 0-2) with 13 points and five rebounds.
