BIG EAST Updates Women’s Basketball Tournament Attendance Plans

NEW YORK – With the approval of the Mohegan Tribal Health Department, the BIG EAST Conference has announced that a limited number of tickets will be provided to each of the participating teams in the upcoming BIG EAST Women’s Basketball Tournament presented by Jeep, scheduled for March 5-8 at Mohegan Sun Arena.

All tickets will be specifically designated for use by the members of each school’s official travel party in order to permit families and guests of student-athletes, coaches and team staffs to attend games.

There will be no public sale of tickets to this year’s tournament.

“While we were looking forward to a great turnout for UConn’s first year back at the BIG EAST Tournament, circumstances will not allow for that this year,” said BIG EAST Commissioner Val Ackerman. “With the consent of the Mohegan Tribal Health Department and working with Mohegan Sun Arena personnel, we’re excited to be able to allow a limited number of family members and guests of our participants to attend this year’s event, while still maintaining the protocols required to conduct a safe competition.  We look forward to a packed arena for this signature event in the years to come.”

The BIG EAST Women’s Tournament begins on Friday, March 5, with a First Round tripleheader that starts at 11 a.m. ET.
