RV/- DePaul 85, Seton Hall 65
DePaul’s Aneesah Morrow took down the BIG EAST’s single-game rookie rebounding standard with 8:30 left in the fourth, then moved on to smash the conference’s overall single-game standard with 3:29 remaining before finishing with an astonishing 27 boards Sunday at Seton Hall. The previous BIG EAST record was held by Peggy Walsh of Connecticut who corralled 25 against Pitt on Feb. 19, 1986. The previous rookie standard was first set by Villanova’s Shelly Pennefather on Jan. 28, 1984, when she grabbed 20 boards – it was then matched three times by Providence’s Kerri Chatten (2/15/95) and twice by Georgetown’s Natalie Butler (1/8/14, 3/1/14). Morrow added 22 points as the Blue Demons (18-5, 10-2 BIG EAST) won to move into a tie for second place in the BIG EAST standings with Creighton, which was idle on Sunday. Sidney Cooks sparked The Hall (8-10, 3-7) with a game-high 32 points to go along with 10 boards. Morrow’s rebounding total is the most by any Division I player since Cal’s Kristine Anigwe gathered 30 on March 3, 2019.

10/9 UCONN 69, Providence 61
Rescheduled to Sunday night at Alumni Hall due to severe winter weather which pummeled the Northeast, the Huskies (13-4, 8-0) remained atop the BIG EAST standings thanks in part to 19 points from Christyn Williams. Janai Crooms kept the Friars in striking distance with her game-high 27 points, as the eight-point setback was the narrowest UConn margin of victory in the series since 1991. Providence (9-11, 4-7) took advantage of 16 UConn turnovers which the Friars turned into 20 points, but the Huskies shot an impressive .543 from the field while limiting PC to a .386 clip to seal the win.
