BIG EAST Player and Freshman of the Week

A day after breaking the single-game BIG EAST rebounding records, Morrow became the first player in league history to sweep Player and Freshman of the Week honors for a third time. Morrow averaged 24.7 points and 19.7 rebounds in a 2-1 week for the Blue Demons, highlighted by Sunday’s record-breaking performance at Seton Hall. The rookie corralled 27 rebounds – smashing not only the BIG EAST single-game freshman record (20) but the overall standard (25) as well. The BIG EAST rookie record had been on the books since 1984, while the overall mark dated back to 1986. Morrow notched three straight double-doubles, beginning with 30 points, 14 rebounds against No. 10/9 UConn on Wednesday, followed by 22 points, 18 rebounds against St. John’s on Friday. Along with the 27 boards, she added 22 points against the Pirates. With Sunday’s performance, Morrow now leads the nation with 13.4 rebounds per game.

Janai Crooms, Providence, Jr., G – averaged 21.5 points, .684 shooting against the top two teams in the BIG EAST standings last week; game-high 27 points in narrow setback to No. 10/9 UConn
Maddy Siegrist, Villanova, Jr., F – 26.5 points, 7.0 rebounds and .526 shooting in wins over Butler and Xavier; fourth 30-point game of the season with 30 against the Musketeers
