Creighton 62, Marquette 45
Creighton improved to 5-0 in BIG EAST play for the first time in program history, using a decisive third quarter to pull away from the visiting Golden Eagles Friday night in Omaha. Leading by four at the half, Creighton opened the second half on a 13-2 run to grow its lead to double figures where it would remain the rest of the way. Marquette (9-4, 2-2) committed just 10 turnovers but was outrebounded for just the second time this season and held scoreless from three (0-3). Creighton’s Lauren Jensen led all scorers with 15 points, including a trio of made three-pointers, while Morgan Maly (12) and Carly Bachlor (10) joined her in double figures. Jordan King paced the Golden Eagles with 14 points and five assists. The win was Creighton’s fourth straight and ninth in its last 10 games as the Bluejays improved to 10-3 overall.

RV/- DePaul 98, Providence 77
Four Blue Demons finished in double figures, including Aneesah Morrow’s 10
th double-double of the season with 17 points and a game-high 10 rebounds as DePaul (12-3, 4-0 BIG EAST) remained unbeaten in BIG EAST play. Providence (6-7, 1-3), which saw rookie Kylee Sheppard score a career- and game-high 22 points off 9-of-12 shooting, led by four after the first quarter before DePaul went on one of its signature runs to turn the tables and carry a 13-point lead into halftime. The host Friars closed within seven late in the third quarter, but that’s as close as they would get the rest of the way. Deja Church (20), Sonya Morris (19) and Lexi Held (17) joined Morrow in double figures, while Mary Baskerville added 15 points for Providence, going 6-of-6 from the field. The win was DePaul’s eighth in its last nine outings.

The lone game remaining on the calendar on Sunday sees two of the BIG EAST’s three unbeaten teams in conference play meeting at Gampel Pavilion as No. 11/11 UConn hosts Creighton at 1 p.m. ET in a game airing on SNY. It will be the Huskies’ first contest since a Dec. 19 setback to then-No. 6/4 Louisville, 69-64, at Mohegan Sun Arena. UConn defeated Seton Hall, 74-49, on Dec. 3 in its lone BIG EAST game thus far, as the Huskies enter Sunday’s tilt with a 6-3 overall mark and 1-0 league record. Freshman Caroline Ducharme led UConn against the Cardinals, scoring a career- and game-high 24 points.
