Georgetown 3, Villanova 1
Led by senior right side Peyton Wilhite, the Georgetown Hoyas (4-12, 2-3 BIG EAST) collected their second BIG EAST victory, defeating visiting Villanova (5-12, 1-4 BIG EAST) 3-1 on Wednesday night. Wilhite amassed 14 kills and one block, hitting .419. Sophomore outside hitter Mary Grace Goyena and senior setter Emma Plutnicki contributed double-doubles in the win. Goyena produced 11 kills and 14 digs while Plutnicki produced a match-best 37 assists with 10 digs. Villanova junior middle blocker Kiera Booth led the match in total kills (19).

Friday will feature five BIG EAST matches, beginning with Xavier at Providence at 6 p.m. ET and No. 21 Creighton at UConn (6:30 p.m.). Three matches are scheduled for 7 p.m. starts; No. 18 Marquette will face St. John’s, Georgetown will travel to Butler, and DePaul will meet Seton Hall. All matches will stream on FloSports, except for the Golden Eagles-Red Storm tilt which will be carried by ESPN3. The Bluejays and Marquette are the lone unbeaten (4-0) teams remaining in BIG EAST play, with MU boasting an 11-match winning streak.
