BIG EAST women’s basketball teams kept the hot streak alive, extending the league-best start to 18-0 following a 5-0 Friday night of non-conference action. The evening was highlighted by RV/RV Villanova’s 69-59 win at No. 24/25 Princeton as BIG EAST Preseason Player of the Year Maddy Siegrist tallied 32 points and 13 rebounds. Also in the Garden State, Seton Hall scored a notable win at Rutgers, 75-57. St. John’s (73-51 over St. Francis-Brooklyn), Providence (56-32 over Stonehill) and Marquette (75-55 over Holy Cross) also improved to 2-0 with wins on Friday.

RV/RV DePaul and Georgetown hit the road on Saturday, eying their second wins of the year. The Blue Demons will visit Northern Illinois at 2 p.m. ET, while the Hoyas travel to Temple at 4 p.m. Both games will stream live on ESPN+.
RV/RV Villanova 69, 24/25 Princeton 59
After leading for most of the contest, Villanova overcame a second-half surge from 24
th-ranked Princeton with a 12-0 scoring run to secure a 69-59 win on Friday night at the Jadwin Gymnasium. Villanova (2-0) led by as many as 13 points early in the third quarter but saw its lead disappear early in the fourth after a 9-0 run by Princeton (1-1) which put the Tigers ahead by one. The sides exchanged baskets before VU took control with a 12-0 sprint through the final 3:38 to win. Maddy Siegrist finished with a season- and game-high 32 points. She was 12-of-17 from the floor and tacked on 13 rebounds for the 39th double-double of her career.

Seton Hall 75, Rutgers 57
Sidney Cooks had a game-high 29 points and Lauren Park-Lane added 18 more as Seton Hall routed Rutgers, 75-57, at Jersey Mike's Arena on Friday. After a slow start, the Pirates used an 18-2 run in the second quarter to pull away from the Scarlet Knights and improve to 2-0 on the young season. Cooks was 12-for-19 shooting, including 3-for-7 from three-point range. She also had 11 rebounds for her second consecutive double-double. Park-Lane had 18 points, on the strength of four made three-pointers, to go with a game-high eight assists.

Marquette 75, Holy Cross 55
The Golden Eagles used a 46-point second half to turn a four-point halftime lead into a 20-point victory over Holy Cross on Friday at the Al McGuire Center. Marquette (2-0) shot 50-percent from the field as four Golden Eagles finished in double figures including 18 points apiece for Liza Karlen and Mackenzie Hare. Hare drained five three-pointers on the night, a BIG EAST single-game high so far this season. Marquette won the rebounding battle 30-26. Under head coach Megan Duffy, MU has outrebounded opponents in 79 of 94 total games.

St. John's 73, St. Francis NY 51
After trailing at halftime, St. John's dominated St. Francis Brooklyn in the second half to secure a win at Carnesecca Arena, 73-51. The Red Storm outscored the Terriers 16-3 in the final quarter to put away its New York City foe on Friday night. Jayla Everett continued to showcase her shooting prowess, draining four three-pointers and leading all scorers with 18 points. Kadaja Bailey registered 16 points, including 10 in the third quarter to help St. John's (2-0) regain control on its home floor.

Providence 56, Stonehill 32
The Friars are off to their first 2-0 start since 2019-20 following a 24-point win over visiting Stonehill on Friday night at Alumni Hall. Providence held the Skyhawks to just eight second-half points to pull away. Olivia Olsen paced the Friars with 13 points and five rebounds, while Brynn Farrell added 12 points and a career-high seven rebounds. PC committed just eight turnovers while forcing 20 Stonehill miscues.
