BIG EAST Trio Ranked In The AP Poll
For the first time since the 2012-13 season, the BIG EAST has three teams in the Associated Press Top 25. UConn (2-0) moved up one from the preseason to No. 5 and just knocked off third-ranked Texas on Monday night. Creighton (2-0) also saw a one-spot jump in the first regular-season poll of the season, up to No. 20, and will face No. 22 Nebraska on Tuesday night in Omaha. Villanova (2-0) made its debut in the top 25 at No. 24 on Monday afternoon, marking the program's first top 25 ranking since Jan. 1, 2018. A Good Week For The ‘Cats

Seton Hall, Providence Edged By In-State Rivals
Lauren Park-Lane had a season-high 25 points but Seton Hall suffered its first loss of the season, a 62-58 setback to RV Princeton on Monday. The Pirates out-shot the Tigers by a large margin, 42.6% to 29.6%, but The Hall committed 21 turnovers and was beaten on the glass, particularly down the stretch.  The Tigers grabbed three offensive rebounds in the final minute as the Pirates were trying to rally. A 9-0 Rhode Island run late in the fourth quarter spoiled Providence’s perfect start as the Friars also suffered their first loss of the season, dropping a 74-72 decision to the Rams. PC led by five, 68-63, with 5:43 left before that decisive run by URI. Janai Crooms led Providence with 24 points off 11-of-16 shooting. Seton Hall and Providence both move to 2-1 on the season.
