#BIGEASTwbb Minute: Marquette Upsets No. 3 Texas at Battle 4 Atlantis

Marquette 68, 3/5 Texas 61  
In what was a near start-to-finish lead for MU, the Golden Eagles (4-0) got out to a strong start and turned efficient offense into a 20-14 lead after a quarter, with seven different MU players getting in the scoring column in the first ten minutes. In total, Marquette led for 38:42 of 40 minutes in the contest. It trailed for just 36 seconds, early in the first quarter. The Longhorns were held to just 31.4 percent (22-of-70) shooting in the contest. Senior guard Jordan King caught fire in the fourth, scoring 15 of Marquette's 26 points, as she went on to finish with a career-high 25 points. Two of her biggest shots of the game came from the charity stripe, when she stepped up with 21.3 seconds remaining and a three-point lead, then hit both free throws to give MU a cushion.

St. John's 78, Stony Brook 52  
A 28-point third quarter sprung the Red Storm past the Seawolves on Saturday to keep a perfect 4-0 record in the final leg of its season-opening homestand. Forward Jillian Archer dominated down low on Saturday afternoon. The graduate student registered 9 points and a season-high 13 rebounds. Redshirt senior Jayla Everett led all players at Carnesecca Arena with 16 points and seven assists in the win. Mimi Reid logged her best offensive performance in Queens, netting 12 points, shooting a perfect 5-for-5 from field goal range.

Xavier 65, Old Dominion 49  
Fernanda Ovalle posted her first career double-double on Saturday afternoon, leading the Musketeers to a 65-49 win over Old Dominion at Cintas Center. Xavier moved to 4-0 on the year, the team's first 4-0 start to a season since 2016-17. The Monarchs dropped to 2-2 on the year. The Musketeers led from start to finish and took their first double-figure lead with 6:18 on the clock in the second quarter (27-17). Xavier led by double figures for the remainder of the game and led by as many as 22 points (54-32) at the end of the third quarter.

Georgetown 63, Cal State Fullerton 42  
The Hoyas (3-1) scored a wire-to-wire win over visiting Cal State Fullerton on Friday night, holding the Titans to 17 second-half points to pull away over the final 20 minutes. GU led by as many as 23, as Kennedy Fauntleroy finished with a game-high 17 points, leading 10 Hoyas who registered points on the night. Georgetown shot .407 from the field and outrebounded Cal State Fullerton 37-29.

No. 5/3 UConn (2-0) will host No. 10/7 NC State at 1 p.m. ET in Hartford in a game airing on FS1.
