DePaul’s Morrow, Butler’s Carrothers Earn Latest #BIGEASTwbb Weekly Honors

Morrow broke the 31-year old DePaul single-game scoring record with her 45-point showing in Saturday’s win at Northwestern. She was 18-of-32 (.563) from the field while grabbing 13 rebounds. With the performance, Morrow took over the Division I scoring lead, averaging 28.5 points per game this season. The 45 points tie Iowa’s Caitlin Clark for the most in a game this season. A free throw with five minutes remaining in the Northwestern game earned Morrow her 1,000th career point in just her 43rd game. The sophomore became the 13th woman in NCAA Division I history to accomplish the career milestone in 43 games or less. Morrow also went for 25 points and 14 rebounds at Loyola Chicago on Wednesday to average 35.0 points, 13.5 rebounds and 3.0 steals in the 2-0 week for the Blue Demons.

Jessica Carrothers, Butler, Fr., G
Carrothers averaged 12.0 points, 3.0 rebounds, 4.0 steals and .526 shooting in a 1-1 week for the Bulldogs. Her week was highlighted by a career-best 18 points off 7-of-11 shooting in a narrow two-point loss to Big Ten foe Illinois on Sunday. The rookie guard was 3-for-3 from deep against the Illini, adding a game-high three steals in 29 minutes.
