Xavier Handles Southern in Non-League Finale

Seton Hall, DePaul in Action Wednesday

MBB Minute – Xavier completed its non-conference schedule Tuesday with a 79-59 victory against Southern at Cintas Center. The Musketeers finished their non-conference slate with an 8-3 record.
 
Souley Boum, the team’s leading scorer with a 17.0 average, led four players in double figures with 17 points. He also dished seven assists and made two steals. All five Xavier starters are averaging in double figures. The Musketeers begin BIG EAST play at Georgetown on Friday at 6:30 p.m. ET on FS1.
 
Seton Hall and DePaul are the two league squads playing on Wednesday. The Pirates finish their non-conference schedule with a home game against Drexel at 7:30 p.m. on FS1. The Hall is coming off a 45-43 win over Rutgers on Sunday. The Pirates (6-4) have held five of their 10 opponents to 55 points or less.
 
DePaul plays at Duquesne on ESPN+ at 7 p.m. The Blue Demons (6-4) are led by Javan Johnson, who ranks second in the BIG EAST in scoring with an 18.1 mark. Umoja Gibson ranks first in steals at 2.5 per game and is tied for second in assists at 6.0.
 
Thursday is dark on the BIG EAST schedule. On Friday, in addition to Xavier at Georgetown, Creighton visits Marquette on FS1 at 8:30 p.m.
