– In Thursday’s action, No. 8 Connecticut returned home to a sold-out Gampel Pavilion and earned a 74-64 BIG EAST-Big 12 Battle win over Oklahoma State. The Huskies, who are the nation’s only 9-0 team, broke away from a 28-25 deficit with 7:26 remaining in the opening half and finished the frame on a 23-3 explosion. The Huskies repelled every Cowboy comeback attempt in the second half to remain unbeaten. Jordan Hawkins (26) and Adama Sanogo (20) combined for 46 points in the victory, with Hawkins pouring in 18 of his 26 points in the opening 20 minutes.

In a top-10 BIG EAST-Big 12 Battle matchup, No. 7 Creighton (6-2) came up short against No. 2 Texas, 72-67, at a sold-out Moody Center in Austin, Texas. Ryan Kalkbrenner made his first nine shots from the field and scored a team-high 20 points, in addition to pulling down a season-high 13 rebounds. Meanwhile, Ryan Nembhard (17), Arthur Kaluma (13) and Baylor Scheierman (13) each reached double figures.
