BIG EAST women’s basketball teams close out the first half of their schedules on Wednesday as eight games are on the calendar prior to the start of the holiday break. Seven of eight games will be of the midday variety, leading into a nationally televised tilt between RV/RV Louisville and -/RV DePaul at 8:30 p.m. ET on FS1. Prior to that, other notable matchups include Seton Hall at No. 9/9 UConn at noon on SNY and Colorado at RV/RV Marquette at 1 p.m. on FloHoops. Additionally, RV/RV Villanova hosts La Salle (11:30 a.m., FloHoops), Georgetown welcomes North Texas (1 p.m., FloHoops), Butler visits No. 4/3 Indiana (1 p.m., BTN+), Xavier hosts Memphis (1 p.m., FloHoops) and No. 25/RV St. John’s looks to stay undefeated when it hosts Wagner at 2 p.m. on FloHoops.

Following Wednesday’s busy slate, all BIG EAST teams will be off until at least Dec. 28, when conference play begins in full swing. The five-game day on Dec. 28 includes a notable matchup between No. 9 UConn and No. 21 Creighton at 8:30 p.m. ET on SNY, as well as RV Villanova at RV Marquette at 8 p.m. on FloHoops. Additionally, Butler travels to Xavier (1 p.m.), Seton Hall hosts Georgetown (4 p.m.) and RV DePaul welcomes Providence (7 p.m.) in a trio of games on FloHoops.
 
Tuesday Recaps
BIG EAST teams split on Tuesday with Providence defeating Sacred Heart on the road 64-52 and No. 21/20 Creighton falling at No. 2/2 Stanford 72-59. PC shot .419 from the field and won the rebounding battle 43-35, while five Friars finished in double figures. Brynn Farrell and Kylee Sheppard tied for the team high with 13 points apiece. On the West Coast, Lauren Jensen scored a game-high 18 points for the Bluejays, but slow starts in each half hurt Creighton, who was outscored 41-18 in the first and third quarters. Creighton made nine threes and committed just six turnovers, but the Cardinal controlled the boards by a 50-25 margin.
