Tournament Seeding Scenarios
Teams are coming down the homestretch of the regular season as every game remaining has the potential to impact seeding for the BIG EAST Women’s Basketball Tournament presented by JEEP. With anywhere between three and five league games remaining per team, the only thing solidified so far is that Xavier, Georgetown and Butler will play in the First Round on March 4 at Mohegan Sun Arena. The top five teams in the standings receive byes directly into the BIG EAST Quarterfinals on March 5. The first set of byes could be clinched on Friday, with No. 10/11 Connecticut able to clinch with a win at Xavier, and Creighton able to lock up its bye with a victory at St. John’s. The same would happen for the Huskies and Bluejays along with RV/- DePaul, which is off on Friday, should Seton Hall suffer a setback to Providence.
