BIG EAST Player of the Week
Zach Bushling, UConn, Sr., INF (Lake Isabella, Calif.)
Senior infielder Zach Bushling batted .500 (7-for-14) over three games against South Florida, Charlotte and Louisville. He also posted a home run and two RBI, with a 0.714 slugging percentage. In the 9-2 victory over Louisville, Bushling batted .800 (4-for-5) with a home run and 2 RBI.
 
BIG EAST Pitcher of the Week
Enzo Stefanoni, UConn, Gr., RHP (Darien, Conn.)
Enzo Stefanoni earned the start against Louisville on Sunday, pitching 6.2 innings in the 9-2 triumph. Securing his first win of the season, the graduate student struck out eight batters and had a 0.0 ERA, setting the Huskies up with a 4-0 lead before exiting the game.
 
BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll
Cory Bosecker, Butler, So., LHP (Evansville, Ind.)
Bosecker earned the opening day start against Murray State and helped give the Bulldogs an early 4-1 lead before exiting early in the sixth inning. Overall, posted 6 strikeouts with two earned runs allowed.
Andrew Ciufo, Georgetown, Jr., INF (Medford, N.Y.)
Ciufo finished the weekend on a three-game hitting streak, slashing .333/.385/.835 with two home runs, seven RBIs and a stolen base. He smacked a solo shot in the season opener against Rider before going 2-for-4 with an RBI against Wake Forest. Ciufo capped off the three-game slate with a grand slam and five total RBIs against Lafayette.
Angelo Tonas, Georgetown, Sr., LHP (Hillsborough, Calif.)
Tonas tossed a pair of scoreless outings during opening weekend, shutting down Rider and Lafayette. He combined for four innings of work, allowing just one hit and striking out three. He held the opposition to a .083 batting average.
Kevin Michaels, St. John’s, So., SS (Encinitas, Calif.)
Michaels recorded multiple hits in each of his first three Division I appearances. Overall, he hit .538 (7-for-13) with a double, two runs scored and two RBIs on the weekend. Went 2-for-4 in the season opener against MTSU. Went 3-for-5 with a double and two RBIs in the first game of the day on Saturday, a win over the Blue Raiders. Singled twice and scored twice against UNCW in the Saturday night cap.
Jack Housinger, Xavier, Sr., SS (Hawthorn Woods, Ill.)
Housinger went 5-of-12 (.417) with a pair of walks in the season-open series at Alabama. Four of his five hits went for extra bases, including a pair of home runs, for a team-best 1.083 slugging percentage. Housinger drove in a team-high four RBI, including three in the season opener where the Musketeers took a 4-1 lead into the bottom of the ninth. He also came around to score three runs.
