RV/- Creighton thrives in Chicago, Villanova’s Siegrist scores 34, Seton Hall and Marquette prevail in tight battles.

The Bluejays’ success in Chicago continued on Friday night as Creighton defeated the Blue Demons on their home court during the regular season for the fourth straight season. The back-and-forth battle featured 11 ties and 13 lead changes, but Creighton (16-6, 11-3 BIG EAST) used a 24-12 fourth quarter to clinch the win. Emma Ronsiek scored a game-high 23 points to power the Bluejays, while Aneesah Morrow had 21 points and 12 boards for DePaul for her 16th consecutive double-double and 19th on the season to lead the nation. It marked the seventh consecutive regular-season meeting between DePaul and Creighton where the road team won. The result caused the teams to swap places in the BIG EAST standings, with the Bluejays moving into second and DePaul (18-6, 10-3) going into third. The rematch on Feb. 27 will be nationally televised at noon ET on FS1.

Villanova 82, St. John’s 58
Maddy Siegrist eclipsed the 30-point mark for the BIG EAST-leading fifth time this season, dropping a game-high 34 to lead the visiting Wildcats to their 11th win in their last 12 outings. Villanova (14-6, 8-3) went on a 17-0 run in the first quarter and held the lead the remainder of the game, shooting .552 in the opening 20 minutes and .508 on the afternoon. Lior Garzon joined Siegrist in double figures with 17, while Brianna Herlihy snagged a game-best 10 boards. St. John’s (7-15, 3-9) saw two finish in double figures, with Kadaja Bailey tallying 18 points and Camree Clegg adding 11. The Red Storm shot .442 from the field and committed just 11 turnovers, but was outrebounded 42-22.

Seton Hall 91, Xavier 86
Five Pirates finished in double figures while three Musketeers reached the 20-point mark in a high-scoring battle inside Walsh Gym on Friday afternoon. Seton Hall (10-10, 5-7) matched its season-high for points, while Xavier (7-14, 2-10) had a season best, and both teams shot at least 50.0% from the field in a contest that featured eight lead changes and eight ties. Leading the Pirates, Sidney Cooks had 18 points and 10 rebounds while Andra Espinoza-Hunter totaled 20 points. Kae Satterfield led Xavier with a career-high 24 points on 8-for-16 shooting. She added eight rebounds and matched her career high in assists with eight. XU’s Shelby Calhoun added her first career double-double with 22 points, 11 boards.

Marquette 61, Providence 59
The Friars had the opportunity to tie the game with just over seven seconds left, but Marquette’s Karissa McLaughlin poked away a pass by Kylee Sheppard to disrupt the play and clinch the win for the host Golden Eagles. The lead changed hands 10 times and the game saw nine ties, with neither side leading by more than nine. Marquette’s Lauren Van Kleunen scored a game-high 19 points, while PC’s Janai Crooms had a team-best 16 points to go along with five boards and five assists. The Golden Eagles (16-5, 9-3) entered the game averaging a .440 clip from the field but was held to a .333 mark as the Friars (9-12, 4-8) finished with a .426 field goal percentage. Marquette dominated the boards, however, outrebounding Providence 44-30.
