Sunday In BIG EAST Women’s Basketball
Five league games were played on Sunday as RV/- DePaul, Marquette, Villanova, St. John’s and Seton Hall scored wins. The Blue Demons topped Providence 88-67 to climb into second place in the BIG EAST standings, while the Golden Eagles edged RV/- Creighton 50-47 to move into third. With its league-leading seventh straight win, the Wildcats are up to fourth place in the standings, defeating visiting Georgetown 76-57. Seton Hall wrapped up a 3-0 week with a 72-56 victory at Butler, while St. John’s claimed the season sweep of Xavier with a 96-62 road win. Of note, VU’s Maddy Siegrist eclipsed the 30-point mark for the BIG EAST-best sixth time this season with 32 points against the Hoyas; DePaul’s Aneesah Morrow collected her NCAA-leading 17
th straight double-double with 15 points and 14 boards; The Hall’s Lauren Park-Lane earned her third points-assists double-double of the year with 10 and 10 against the Bulldogs; Kadaja Bailey’s 21 points sparked a Red Storm squad which scored a season-high 96 points; and Liza Karlen scored a career-best 20 points as MU leveled the season series with the Bluejays.

Huskies Score Top-10 Rivalry Win
Azzi Fudd earned her first career start and shined, scoring a team- and career-high 25 points as UConn knocked off seventh-ranked Tennessee in Hartford on Sunday afternoon. The Huskies limited the Lady Vols to just .288 shooting and led by as many as 26. Fudd’s career day led a trio of Huskies in double figures as Aaliyah Edwards and Evina Westbrook each added 14 points. The win over the seventh-ranked Lady Vols is the highest by a BIG EAST team this season, as the league picked up its sixth victory over a top-25 foe while improving to 5-3 against teams from the SEC.

Streaks Of Note
With less than four weeks until the BIG EAST Women’s Basketball Tournament presented by JEEP tips off, a number of teams are peaking at the right time. Villanova has won 12 of its last 13 games to trim their NET in half since the start of the streak and climb into fourth place in the BIG EAST standings. The Wildcats’ seven-game winning streak is an active league high. Marquette has won six straight and eight of its last nine, sitting half a game back of second-place DePaul in the standings, which has won three of its last four. UConn remains the league’s lone unbeaten squad at 9-0 and has won nine of its last 10. Additionally, Seton Hall has won three straight to move back over .500 on the season. These streaks will be on the line this week as many of these squads go head-to-head, including Villanova at UConn on Wednesday (7 p.m. ET, SNY), Marquette at Villanova on Friday (7 p.m., BEDN), DePaul at UConn on Friday (7 p.m., SNY), Villanova at Seton Hall on Sunday (1 p.m., BEDN) and UConn at Marquette on Sunday (2:30 p.m., FOX).
