BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week
Marlon de Bruijne, Old Dominion, Jr., F (Den Bosch, Netherlands)
Leading the offensive attack for Old Dominion, Bruijne tallied two goals in a pair of outings. At home on Friday against Columbia, the junior forward got rolling early with a goal at the 5:02 mark. She later sealed the game in the 43:09 minute with her second goal of the game, as Old Dominion earned a 3-0 win. Overall, Bruijne leads the Monarchs with six goals and 12 points in the opening six games, as Old Dominion enters conference play riding a five-game winning streak.

BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week
McKenna Burkhardt, Temple, Sr., B (Bethlehem, Pa.)
Anchoring the Temple defense in a pair of lopsided victories, Burkhardt also made her presence felt on the offensive side of the turf with two goals. Opening the week against Long Island University, Burkhardt and the Temple defense limited the Sharks to just four shots, two on goal, in a 5-1 victory. On Sunday, Temple once again held its opponent to just four shots, three on goal, in a 5-2 triumph over Bucknell. In the outing, Burkhardt registered a pair of late goals to seal the victory, as Temple improved to 5-1 on the year.

BIG EAST Freshman of the Week
Sol Simone, UConn, Fr. M (Buenos Aires, Argentina)
Trailing 3-0 with under 10 minutes to play in the fourth quarter in UConn’s lone contest of the week, the Huskies rallied off three goals to force overtime against Delaware. Down 2-3 with just under eight minutes to play, Simone connected with Julia Bressler for the equalizer. Carrying all the momentum into the overtime period, Simone showed off her skill by avoiding the Delaware defense and chipped home the game-winner.

BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll
Ciara Weets, Gr., GK, Georgetown
Weets had a stellar weekend between the pipes for Georgetown, registering 13 saves in a 1-1 weekend. Late in the third quarter on Sunday, Weets stonewalled the Red Flash on a penalty stroke to keep the score even at 0-0. The Hoyas would go on to win in overtime behind Weets’ nine-save performance.
Martu Cian, So., F, Liberty
Cian scored four goals in Sunday’s 11-0 win over Queens matching a program record for goals in a single game. The sophomore also assisted on Lizzie Hamlett’s goal in the second quarter, resulting in a nine-point outing, the second most in a game in program history. Against No. 1 Northwestern on Friday, Cian led Liberty with two shots, one of which was on goal.
Cam MacGillivray, Gr., GK, Old Dominion
With three saves in a pair of contests, MacGillivray earned a shutout and limited her opponents to just one goal in 120 combined minutes. In a 3-0 victory over Columbia, she collected two saves, before registering a save in a 2-1 win at Richmond.
Amanda Funaro, Gr., B, Quinnipiac
In a 1-1 weekend for Quinnipiac, Funaro was a defensive whiz. Funaro aided in the road shutout over Lafayette on Friday, before following up that performance with two defensive saves at home against LIU on Sunday.
Meghan Mitchell, Jr., F, Villanova
On the ropes against Penn with three minutes remaining in regulation, Mitchell connected with Toni Minichello for the equalizer, before Mitchell completed the Wildcats’ comeback with a game-winning goal in overtime.
