Morrow, La Chapell Earn This Week’s #BIGEASTwbb Awards

BIG EAST Player of the Week
Aneesah Morrow, DePaul, So., F
Morrow led the BIG EAST in scoring and rebounding last week, averaging 31 points and 14.5 rebounds in a 1-1 home swing. She began the week with a 29-point, 19-rebound showing in Wednesday’s win over Providence, adding four assists and three steals. Against No. 21 Creighton on Saturday, she tallied game highs of 33 points, 10 rebounds and five steals. Through 15 games, Morrow is averaging 26.3 points per game to rank fourth nationally, while her 11.9 rebounds per game rank seventh. With two more double-doubles last week, she now has 11 on the season – third-most in Division I.
 
BIG EAST Freshman of the Week
Emily La Chapell, Marquette, Fr., G
La Chapell was the BIG EAST’s top scoring freshman last week, averaging 9.0 points and 4.0 rebounds against RV Villanova and No. 8 UConn. Her week was highlighted by an 11-point outing against the eighth-ranked Huskies, in just her second career start, going 3-for-4 from deep while grabbing five rebounds. La Chapell finished the week shooting .571 from three and .467 from the field.

Aaliyah Edwards, UConn, Jr., F – averaged 16.0 points and 14.0 rebounds in a 2-0 week; 23 points and a career-high 20 rebounds in Wednesday’s win at No. 21 Creighton
Emma Ronsiek, Creighton, Jr., F – led No. 21 Creighton in scoring in back-to-back games, averaging 17.0 points off .462 shooting; 22 points in comeback win at DePaul on Saturday
Jillian Archer, St. John’s, Grad., F – nine points and a season-high 17 rebounds, one shy of her career best, in win over Georgetown to help the Red Storm improve to 13-0
Lauren Park-Lane, Seton Hall, Sr., G – 21.0 points and a BIG EAST-best 8.0 assists in a 2-0 week; 23 points, eight dimes in win over Georgetown followed by 19 points and eight dishes in win over Butler
Maddy Siegrist, Villanova, Sr., F – top five in scoring and rebounding in the BIG EAST last week, averaging 28.0 points and 8.0 rebounds while shooting .524 from the field in a 2-0 road swing; 35 points at Xavier on Sunday to take over the top spot as the nation’s leading scorer at 28.0 points per game
