DePaul’s Katlyn Gilbert notched the first triple-double in Division I women’s basketball this season, tallying 12 points, 10 rebounds and 10 steals as the Blue Demons defeated Stonehill 99-52 on Thursday night at Wintrust Arena. Gilbert’s triple-double is the seventh in DePaul program history. The Blue Demons improved to 2-0 on the year, as did Georgetown which scored a 68-45 victory at Temple. The Hoyas tripled up the Owls in the first quarter, 24-8, to jump out to an early and convincing lead.

Thursday Night Standouts
Gilbert’s triple-double highlighted five players in double figures for the Blue Demons against Stonehill, with Anaya Peoples scoring 20 points for the second straight outing. Kelsey Ransom filled the stat sheet for Georgetown with a game-high 16 points, eight rebounds, five assists and four steals. Georgetown shot .528 from the field (28-53) – the second-best shooting mark by a BIG EAST team this season.
