Pirates, Hoyas, Bluejays Capture Saturday Victories

MBB Minute – On a three-game Saturday, Seton Hall, Georgetown and Creighton enjoyed double-digit victories at home.
Seton Hall dispatched Wagner 72-51. The unbeaten Pirates (4-0) were led by Dre Davis’ 17 points. Kadary Richmond helped with 11 points and 11 rebounds. After an even 10 minutes, Seton Hall took control and led 32-22 by halftime.
 
Georgetown knocked off Mount St. Mary 83-72 in the Georgetown MTE. The Hoyas (2-2) got a huge contribution from guard Dontrez Styles who delivered a career-high 26 points, eight rebounds, four assists and two blocks. He did not commit a turnover.
 
No. 8 Creighton opened its game against Texas Southern with a 17-4 run and added a 20-0 spurt in the second half to record an 82-50 victory. Baylor Scheierman netted a game-high 23 points and Ryan Kalkbrenner added 16 points, 10 rebounds and four blocked shots.
 
Today will be the busiest Sunday of the season with six games on the schedule.
 
At noon ET, Providence meets Georgia in the third-place game of Baha Mar Hoops Championship on CBS Sports Network. Devin Carter leads the Friars with a 16.5 scoring average.
 
No. 5 Connecticut goes to Madison Square Garden to meet Indiana in the first round of the Empire Classic at 1 p.m. on ESPN. The Huskies will be playing the first of at least five games at MSG this season.
 
DePaul meets San Francisco in the third-place game of the Arizona Tipoff at 3:30 p.m. on CBS Sports Network.
 
At 4:30 p.m., Georgetown finishes its four-team MTE with a game against American on FS2.
 
St. John’s takes on Utah in the third-place game of the Charleston Classic at 5:30 p.m. on ESPN.
 
In another third-place game, Xavier meets Saint Mary’s in the Continental Tire Main Event at 7:30 p.m. on ESPN+.
