Lucy Olsen, Villanova, Jr., G
Olsen became just the sixth BIG EAST player since 2009-10 to reach the 40-point mark with her career-highlighting showing against Temple on Sunday. The junior guard tallied 40 points off 12-of-22 shooting, making 4-of-6 shots from three and 12-of-13 from the charity stripe. She added four rebounds and two assists in 34 minutes. She joins former teammate Maddy Siegrist, DePaul’s Aneesah Morrow, Creighton’s Jaylyn Agnew, Georgetown’s Sugar Rodgers and UConn’s Maya Moore as the lone 40-point scorers in the BIG EAST since 2009-10.
BIG EAST Freshman of the Week
KK Arnold, Connecticut, Fr., G
The BIG EAST Preseason Freshman of the Year stepped up for the shorthanded Huskies this week, beginning against No. 20 Maryland on Thursday. Against the Terps, Arnold tallied 12 points off 5-of-6 shooting, to go along with five assists and five steals. At Minnesota on Sunday, she added six points and three rebounds. For the week she averaged 9.0 points, 3.0 assists, three steals and 2.5 rebounds while shooting .636 from the field and .500 from three.
