BIG EAST women’s basketball teams combined for a 3-2 record on Wednesday, with No. 23/23 Marquette, Butler and St. John’s scoring large-margin home victories. The Golden Eagles remained perfect on the year (7-0) with an 88-59 win over Memphis, Butler (5-2) won for the fifth time in its last six games with a 67-46 victory over Bradley, and St. John’s (3-5) cruised by Loyola (Md.) 71-49. In a midday tilt in New York City, Providence (3-4) fell at Columbia 77-52, while Seton Hall (4-3) took No. 25 Princeton down to the wire before falling in double-overtime 75-71.

Nightly Notables
Seton Hall’s Micah Gray banked home the game-tying three-pointer at the end of regulation to send the game into overtime and finished with a game-best 24 points against the 25
th-ranked Tigers. Gray tied with St. John’s Unique Drake for the nightly high in scoring, as Drake reached the 20-point mark for the fourth time this season. All 11 Golden Eagles that entered the game against Memphis scored, with Liza Karlen tallying a game-high 21 points. The Red Storm’s Jillian Archer and Pirates’ Azana Baines posted matching double-doubles of 12 points and 11 rebounds. Caroline Strande led Butler in scoring for the third time this season with 17 points, while Providence was sparked by Olivia Olsen for the third straight game, registering team highs of 15 points and nine rebounds.

A trio of games are slated for 7 p.m. ET on Thursday night, highlighted by a nationally televised tilt between DePaul and Michigan State on CBS Sports Network. The Blue Demons have won back-to-back games to improve to 4-3 on they year, eclipsing the 90-point mark for the second time this season in their last outing – a 93-72 win over Loyola Chicago on Sunday. On FloSports, Villanova hosts Richmond and Georgetown hosts Howard. The Wildcats (4-1) are coming off a 74-65 win at Wake Forest on Sunday, while the Hoyas (5-1) won at Cal State Fullerton, 65-55. GU last started a season 5-1 in 2015-16, and will aim for its first 6-1 start since 2010-11.
