Final Set of #BIGEASTwlax Weekly Awards Announced

BIG EAST Attacker of the Week
Lia LaPrise, Connecticut, Gr., A
The graduate student totaled eight points off five goals and three assists in a 22-6 victory over Xavier. LaPrise also added two ground balls in the then-No. 23 Huskies’ regular season finale. She is tied for sixth in both goals per game (2.83) and assists per game (1.67) in BIG EAST games this season.

BIG EAST Midfielder of the Week
Ellie Curry, Denver, Sr., M
Curry tallied two points last week off two goals in then-No. 3 Denver’s 12-5 win against then-24th ranked Marquette. The senior midfielder has tallied at least one point in the past 12 games. Curry’s two-goal performance was also her 10th multi-goal game this season.

BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week
Emelia Bohi, Denver, So., GK
In Denver’s win last week, Bohi made 10 saves on 21 shots faced. The sophomore goalkeeper allowed five goals against Marquette, which was the Golden Eagles’ lowest goal total this season. She only allowed one goal in the second half and added two ground balls in the victory. Bohi has a .571 save percentage in six conference games this season.

BIG EAST Freshman of the Week
Kiera Armitage, Xavier, Fr., M
The freshman midfielder scored one goal and had four draw controls for Xavier last week. Armitage had two shots in the game with both being on goal. She went one for two on free positions shots for the Musketeers.

BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll
Amanda McMahon, Connecticut, Sr., D – had five ground balls, four caused turnovers and three draw controls in UConn’s win against Xavier
Lauren Black, Denver, So., A – totaled four points off three goals and one assist in Denver’s victory over Marquette; This was Black’s fifth hat trick of the season and ninth consecutive game with a goal
Erin Bakes, Georgetown, Gr., A – scored six goals off eight shots on goal and had one caused turnover as Georgetown defeated Butler, 21-5
