BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week
Julianna Kratz, UConn, Grad., F (Erdenheim, Pa.)
Kratz led the UConn offensive attack to a 2-0 weekend, as well as extend the Huskies win streak to three games. Overall, the graduate forward tallied three goals for six points in a pair of outings. In Friday's conference tilt with Georgetown, Kratz registered two goals in a 4-0 win, before knocking in her third goal of the weekend in a 3-1 win over Delaware on Sunday. Overall, in her first season with the Huskies she has tallied five goals on nine shots, with a 0.556 shooting percentage. She also has posted eight shots on goal, with a 0.889 percentage.
BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week
Nicole Fredricks, Old Dominion, Grad., D (West Chester, Pa.)
Fredricks anchored the Old Dominion defense to a pair of shutout wins over the weekend, including the program’s first ranked win of the season. In a hard-fought 1-0 win over then-No. 19 Temple in BIG EAST play, Fredricks and her teammates limited the Owls offense to just one shot in the contest. Two days later against William & Mary, the graduate defender and her teammates limited the Tribe to just four shots and one shot on goal in a 4-0 triumph. Overall, in a 2-0 week, ODU’s defense held their opponents to just five shots and two shots on target.
BIG EAST Freshman of the Week
Kyleigh Faust, Liberty, R-Fr., M (Alburtis, Pa.)
Faust totaled one goal, one assist and three points in a pair of games this past weekend against Providence and Longwood. In Friday’s BIG EAST contest against the Friars, Faust assisted on what proved to be the game-winning goal from Ellie Livingston in the 38th minute which put Liberty up 3-1 in the eventual 5-2 win. The assist was the first of her collegiate career. On Sunday against Longwood, the redshirt freshman scored on a penalty stroke at the 28:57 mark for a 4-1 Liberty lead heading into intermission in the 7-1 triumph.
BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll
Belle Bressler, Grad., M, UConn
Bressler was part of a strong defensive effort in a 2-0 week, limiting opponents to just 10 shots, five shots on target and one goal allowed. In addition, Bressler tallied a goal in the 3-1 win over Delaware.
Natalie McKenna, Fr., GK, UConn
McKenna registered four saves in a pair of wins for the Huskies, opening the weekend with a two-save effort in a shutout win over Georgetown. On Sunday, she made two more saves in a 3-1 victory over Delaware.
Tuti Dell Anna, Jr., F, Liberty
Dell Anna tallied two goals, an assist and five points in a pair of weekend wins for No. 9 Liberty over Providence and Longwood. Through 10 games in her first season with Liberty, the forward has four goals, one assist and nine points while helping the Lady Flames to their second 9-1 start in program history.
Sanci Molkenboer, So., F, Old Dominion
Tallied the game-winning goal against then-No. 19 Temple, to improve to 1-1 in BIG EAST play. On Sunday, she scored a goal and dished out an assist in a 4-0 win over William & Mary.
Meghan Mitchell, Sr., F, Villanova
Scored a career-high four goals in a come from behind win over Quinnipiac on Friday. She led the Wildcats to the largest comeback since 2005 in program history and she ranks third in the nation in points per game with 2.86.
