BIG EAST Announces 2023-24 Women’s Basketball Conference Schedule

NEW YORK – The BIG EAST Conference announced its 2023-24 women’s basketball schedule and extensive television lineup on Thursday. FOX Sports will air a total of 26 games, including the quarterfinal, semifinal and championship games of the 2024 BIG EAST Tournament presented by JEEP at Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Conn. Of those 26 games, a record five will air on FOX, marking the fourth straight year BIG EAST women’s basketball will be featured on the broadcast network. Additionally, CBS Sports Network will air six matchups, while SNY will cover 17 regular-season games, including 15 during conference play. For the ninth straight year, the BIG EAST Digital Network presented by Invesco QQQ will stream every conference game not designated for television. FloSports, the home of BEDN, will also house all school-produced games as more than 120 total women’s basketball contests will stream on the platform. Additional content on BEDN on FloSports includes “In The Bonus,” the Conference’s weekly women's basketball feature show and podcast.

New for 2023-24, the BIG EAST will shift to an 18-game conference schedule. Schools will play eight opponents twice and two opponents once. Many factors were considered when determining schedule pairings, including projected order of finish, established rivalries and television requests. The BIG EAST played a double-round robin schedule the previous 10 seasons. The adjustment to an unbalanced schedule provides greater flexibility in scheduling non-conference opponents. For the 11th consecutive year, FS1 and FS2 will provide coverage of the BIG EAST Women’s Basketball Tournament, with this season’s event returning to Mohegan Sun Arena for a fourth consecutive year. Quarterfinal coverage on March 9 begins on FS1 at noon ET, before FS2 takes over for the 2:30 p.m., 7 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. tilts. FS1 picks up the remainder of the tournament, with the semifinals on March 10 slated for 2:30 and 5 p.m., and the championship game set to tip off at 7 p.m. on March 11. First Round coverage and tip times on March 8 will be announced at a later date. The BIG EAST signed a three-year extension with Mohegan Sun Arena last fall, keeping the Tournament in Uncasville through at least 2026.
The Conference is in the 11th year of its multi-year contract with FOX Sports, which has exclusive television rights to all BIG EAST competitions. Three non-conference games are included in this year’s FOX Sports lineup, beginning with a showdown between UConn and Maryland on Nov. 16 on FS1. Two non-league games on FOX follow, beginning with Louisville at UConn on Dec. 16 and followed by Notre Dame against the Huskies on Jan. 27.
In addition to UConn-Louisville and UConn-Notre Dame, FOX will air three BIG EAST contests. Villanova visits Marquette on Feb. 10, before the Huskies host Creighton in a President’s Day showdown (Feb. 19). Villanova travels to Omaha to face the Bluejays on Feb. 24 to wrap up BIG EAST showcases on FOX.
Among the notable BIG EAST regular-season games slated for FS1, Georgetown will travel to Marquette on National Girls and Women in Sports Day, Feb. 7, for what has become an annual celebration and a highlighted “Female Forward” game in the BIG EAST. Additionally, marquee showdowns between Villanova and DePaul (Jan. 28, March 3), St. John’s and Providence (Jan. 6) and Seton Hall and Creighton (March 3) will also be featured.
Also of note, FS2 will air UConn’s game at Toronto Metropolitan on Dec. 20 – a homecoming game for Ontario native Aaliyah Edwards.
CBS Sports Network coverage of six regular-season games begins with a non-league tilt between Michigan State and DePaul on Nov. 30. Five BIG EAST games follow, including a rivalry game between the Blue Demons and Marquette on Jan. 13. Additional games on CBS Sports Network include Creighton at Villanova (Jan. 21), Seton Hall at Creighton (Jan. 28), St. John’s at UConn (Feb. 4) and UConn at DePaul (Feb. 25).
SNY’s lineup includes UConn non-conference games against Dayton (Nov. 8) and Ball State (Dec. 6), before covering 15 of the Huskies’ BIG EAST matchups, including UConn at Marquette on Jan. 23 and the Huskies at Villanova on Jan. 31.
FOX Sports is also the home for out-of-market games on SNY. Out-of-market fans are able to stream the SNY games at no additional cost to authenticated subscribers. Users will need to sign in with their TV provider credentials at https://www.foxsports.com/ or on the FOX Sports app. In-market fans are able to stream the SNY games at no additional cost to authenticated subscribers. Users will need to sign in with their TV provider credentials at https://www.sny.tv/watch-now or in the SNY app.

The BIG EAST Conference previously announced an agreement with leading sports streaming service FloSports to continue to be the home of the BIG EAST Digital Network (BEDN) presented by SoFi for the 2023-24 academic year. FloSports has served as the digital home of BIG EAST women’s basketball since 2020-21 and expanded its BEDN lineup in the fall of 2021 to include more than 500 Olympic sports events, as well as BIG EAST original content such as “Shootaround” and “In The Bonus,” the Conference’s weekly men’s and women's basketball feature shows. FloSports offers both monthly and annual subscriptions, and as part of the expanded agreement, BIG EAST member institution student and faculty discounts will be made available.
