Seton Hall and Creighton Collect Road Victories

Three Games Scheduled for Wednesday Night

MBB Minute – Seton Hall and Creighton each picked up their third consecutive victories, taking care of business Tuesday night on the road.
 
Seton Hall (11-5, 4-1 BIG EAST) put together an 8-0 run late in the second half to take control in its 74-70 win over Georgetown (8-8, 1-4). The Pirates were led by a pair of 20-point scorers for the second straight game, with Al-Amir Dawes posting 25 points and a season-high five 3-pointers. Kadary Richmond had an all-around stellar night with 20 points, eight rebounds and eight assists. Georgetown’s Jayden Epps led all scorers with 30 points on 9-of-18 shooting from the floor, including five 3-pointers, to go along with a team-best five assists and a trio of rebounds.
 
No. 22 Creighton (12-4, 3-2) scored on 11 of its first 12 possessions and never trailed in an 84-58 road triumph over DePaul (3-12, 0-4). The Bluejays led by as much as 23 (43-20) in the first half before settling for a 47-30 lead at the break. Baylor Scheierman (15 points, five rebounds), Ryan Kalkbrenner (15 points, six rebounds) and Trey Alexander (12 points) shot a combined 15-for-22 in the first half to lead Creighton. The trio capped the night with 20, 20 and 17 points, respectively. DePaul was paced by De’Sean Nelson (12 points) and Jaden Henley (12).
 
FS1 has a doubleheader scheduled on Wednesday’s three-game night. At 6:30 p.m. ET, St. John’s hosts Providence at Madison Square Garden. The Red Storm (11-4, 3-1) are led by Joel Soriano who ranks fourth in the BIG EAST in scoring (17.3 ppg) and first in rebounding (10.3 rpg). The Friars (11-4, 2-2) are led by the conference’s fifth-leading scorer Devin Carter (16.9 ppg).
 
At 8:30 p.m., Connecticut visits Xavier. The fourth-ranked Huskies (13-2, 3-1) lead the BIG EAST with a plus-18.7 scoring margin and are led offensively by Tristen Newton (15.1 ppg) and Cam Spencer (15.1 ppg). Quincy Olivari ranks third in the BIG EAST and leads the Musketeers (7-7, 1-2 BE) in scoring with 17.9 points per outing.
 
CBSSN closes out the night at 9 p.m., with No. 11 Marquette hosting Butler. The Golden Eagles (11-4, 2-2) are paced offensively by Tyler Kolek who leads the league with 6.3 assists per game, while also pacing Marquette with 14.6 points per game. Jahmyl Telfort (14.5 ppg) and DJ Davis (14.2) lead the scoring efforts for the Bulldogs (10-5, 1-3).
