Villanova, Old Dominion Awarded BIG EAST Field Hockey Weekly Honors

BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week
Ava Borkowski, Villanova, Gr., F (Conshohocken, Pa.)
Borkowski had four goals in Villanova's 2-0 weekend, including a hat trick against then-No. 19 Temple. She scored all three of the team's goals in the 3-0 win over the Owls. It was the Wildcats' first ranked win since 2018. She also scored one goal against Fairfield. The Wildcats won 4-3. 

BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week
Maddi Sears, Villanova, So., GK (Avondale, Pa.)
Sears had three saves in the shutout of Temple. It was her third shutout of the season, and she lowered her goals-against average to 1.74. 

BIG EAST Freshman of the Week
Amelie Zielcke, Old Dominion, Fr., B (Munich, Germany)
Zielcke scored one goal, helping ODU beat Quinnipiac 2-1 in overtime and improve to 5-1 in conference play. 

BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll
Natalie McKenna, UConn, So., GK (Northport, NY)
McKenna had six saves and one goal against in UConn's overtime win against Liberty. She also had five saves when the Huskies fell to No. 12 Syracuse 3-1. 

Cristina Torres, Quinnipiac, Jr., GK (Barcelona, Spain)
Torres had 12 saves against Old Dominion. She played all 70 minutes and had only two goals against in a 2-1 loss for the Bobcats. 

Ally DeCoste, Providence, Gr., F (Braintree, Mass.)
DeCoste scored a season-high five points in the Friars' 4-1 victory over Georgetown. She had a hand in three of the Friars' four goals, finishing the game with two goals and one assist. 

Emily Tammaro, Old Dominion, Jr., MD (Virginia Beach, Va.)
Tammaro scored the game-winning goal at 4:57 of the first overtime against Quinnipiac. It was her second goal of the season. 

Tori Griffiths, Liberty, R-So., M/F (Clarksboro, N.J.) 
Griffiths scored her first career goal and the team's only goal against then-No. 8 UConn.
