BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week
Erin Jones, Jr, RS/S, St. John’s
Jones repeats as the BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week after registering back-to-back triple-doubles for the second consecutive week. Over the Red Storm’s 2-0 week, the junior averaged 3.88 kills per set with 37 assists, 29 digs, three blocks, and an ace on .302 hitting. In Wednesday’s 3-1 victory over Villanova, the New Mexico product registered 26 assists, 18 kills, and a match-leading 17 digs. During Sunday’s defeat of Butler (3-1), Jones logged 13 kills, 12 digs, and 11 assists with three blocks and an ace. The triple-double marked her fourth in a row, seventh of conference play, and eighth of the season. This feat tied the BIG EAST record and makes Jones just one of five players, nationally, to amass more than eight total triple-doubles this season.
BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week
McKenna Brand, Fr., L/DS, UConn
Brand anchored the Huskies defense, averaging a BIG EAST best 5.50 digs per set. The rookie registered a match-best 14 digs with four assists and a pair of aces in Saturday’s sweep of Xavier. In a setback to DePaul (L, 0-3), Brand contributed a match-leading 19 digs with three assists.
BIG EAST Setter of the Week
Yadhira Anchante, Gr., S, Marquette
Anchante set the Golden Eagles to an undefeated weekend while leading the conference with 13.50 assists per frame. In Friday’s victory over Georgetown (3-0), the graduate student contributed 35 assists, nine digs, five kills, and three blocks on .833 hitting. In Sunday’s sweep of Seton Hall, Anchante registered her 19
th double-double of the year with 46 assists and 12 digs. Her assist total is the highest of her career in a three-set match and the ninth highest of her 87 career Division I appearances.
BIG EAST Freshman of the Week
Sophia Adkins, Fr., OH, Providence
Adkins averaged 4.50 kills per set, good for second in the league, as Providence picked up their first BIG EAST victory this weekend. The freshman registered a match-best 20 kills, seven digs, and a block against Xavier (L, 1-3). In the Friars victory over DePaul (3-1), Adkins contributed 16 kills, eight digs, two blocks, and an ace.

Ava Martin, Jr., OH, Creighton
Martin averaged 3.50 kills and a conference leading 2.00 aces per set on .462 hitting as Creighton clinched their 11
th consecutive BIG EAST regular season title with straight set victories over Seton Hall and Georgetown. In Friday’s victory over the Pirates, the junior logged 13 digs, 11 kills, and tied a school-record with eight service aces. Against the Hoyas, she registered 10 kills, four aces, two digs, and a block on .500 hitting.
Kendra Wait, Sr., S, Creighton
Wait averaged 10.17 assists, 2.33 digs, 1.33 kills, and 0.33 blocks per set while hitting .636 as the Bluejays locked up the 2024 BIG EAST volleyball regular season title. In Sunday’s sweep of Georgetown, the senior set Creighton to a .548 hitting percentage – a school record and the best mark by any team in a conference competition in at least 20 years. During the match, she logged 32 assists with 11 digs and five kills on .833 hitting.
Jill Pressly, Gr., OH, DePaul
Pressly averaged a conference best 5.00 kills per set as DePaul split the week. During the Blue Demons road victory over UConn (3-0), the graduate student registered 13 kills with nine digs and one block. In Saturday’s setback at Providence (1-3), Pressly led the match in both digs (18) and blocks (7) while pacing the Blue Demons with 21 kills.
Hattie Bray, RS-Jr., MB, Marquette
Bray averaged 4.17 kills per set on a league-leading .611 hitting percentage as Marquette enjoyed an undefeated weekend. The redshirt junior led the Golden Eagles in sweeps of Georgetown and Seton Hall with 11 and 14 kills, respectively. Additionally, Bray hit .529 with an ace and a pair of blocks against the Hoyas and registered three blocks, three digs, and a pair of aces against the Pirates.
Rashanny Solano Smith, So., L, SJU
Solano Smith averaged 4.50 digs per set as the Red Storm defeated Villanova and Butler on the road. Versus Villanova (3-1), the sophomore logged 15 digs, four assists, and an ace. At Butler (3-1), Solano Smith racked up 21 digs, two assists, and a kill.
