NEW YORK – Creighton senior guard Lauren Jensen was named BIG EAST Player of the Week after a 31-point performance in the upset win over No. 21 Nebraska. No. 2 UConn freshman forward Sarah Strong earned BIG EAST Freshman of the Week for the third straight week with a season high 20 points versus Fairleigh Dickinson.

Butler graduate student guard Caroline Strande, Georgetown graduate student guard Kelsey Ransom, Marquette sophomore forward Skylar Forbes, Providence graduate student guard Grace Efosa and Seton Hall graduate student forward Faith Masonius were named to this week’s honor roll.

BIG EAST Player of the Week
Lauren Jensen, Creighton, Sr., G

Jensen led Creighton to a 80-74 victory over No. 21 Nebraska with a game-high 31 points, with 19 coming in the second half. Lauren went 10-for-19 (.526) in the game and 5-for-10 in the final 20 minutes from the field. She leads Creighton with 23.8 ppg this season, including a pair of 30-point performances in Bluejay wins over Drake and Nebraska.

BIG EAST Freshman of the Week
Sarah Strong, UConn, Fr., F

Strong set a season high with 20 points in the 85-41 win versus FDU. The freshman shot 61.5% and had a personal-best four three-pointers on 57.1 3FG%. She added eight rebounds, tied her personal best with six assists and had two blocks and two steals.

BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll
Caroline Strande, Butler, Gr., G

Strande averaged 20.5 points while shooting 57% (15-for-26) from the field in a 2-0 week for Butler. Strande scored a season-high 26 points on 9-for-14 shooting from the field in the 69-44 victory over UMass Lowell.

Kelsey Ransom Georgetown, Gr., G
Ransom averaged 23.7 points and 7.3 rebounds in a three-game week for Georgetown. She scored 28 points and had five assists and five steals in the 65-51 win over Temple. She recorded her first double double of the season with 25 points and 10 rebounds versus Cincinnati and rounded out the week with 12 points, five rebounds and four steals against FGCU.

Skylar Forbes, Marquette, So. F
Forbes averaged 16.5 pts and 6.5 rebounds in 2-0 week for the Golden Eagles, including a career-high 18-point performance against Illinois Springfield.

Grace Efosa, Providence, Gr., G
Efosa averaged 18.0 points, 4.0 rebounds and went 14-for-19 (.737) from the field in Providence’s 1-1 week. She scored a season-high 22 points at Dayton on 8-of-10 shooting earlier in the week. Efosa then finished with a game-high 14 points against Delaware (W, 60-53) to mark the fifth-straight game leading the Friars in scoring.

Faith Masonius, Seton Hall, Gr., F
Masonius led the Pirates with 18.0 points, 4.0 rebounds and 3.5 steals per game in two games. In the come-from-behind 69-68 victory at Cincinnati, she registered a game-high 21 points to go with five rebounds, four steals and two blocks to spearhead the Pirates’ rally.
