MBB Minute – Georgetown improved to 5-1 after an on-campus victory against Wagner on Tuesday, while Connecticut and Creigthon suffered losses in tournament play.
Georgetown is 5-1 for the first time since 2018 after a 66-41 win against Wagner at McDonough Arena. The Hoyas held the Seahawks scoreless in the first eight minutes of the second half. The 41 points by an opponent were the fewest allowed by GU since a 67-40 win against Creighton on Jan. 31, 2015. Malik Mack led GU in scoring with 16 points in the Wagner win. Micah Peavy added 15.

UConn led for 35:11 against Colorado before the Buffalos scored with eight seconds left to hand the Huskies (4-2) a 73-72 defeat in the second round of the Maui Invitational. Liam McNeeley scored a collegiate-high 20 points and Solo Ball added 16. UConn led 40-28 at halftime, but Colorado rallied by shooting 62.5 percent from the field. The Huskies will play Dayton at midnight ET on ESPN2.

Creighton, playing without injured point guard Steven Ashworth, lost to San Diego State 71-53 in the first round of the Players Era Festival in Las Vegas, Nev. The Aztecs did not trail after gaining control midway in the first half. The Bluejays (4-2) were led by freshman Jackson McAndrew, who had 12 points and 14 rebounds in his first start. The Jays meet No. 20 Texas A&M at 6:30 p.m. The game will be streamed on MAX.
BIG EAST teams are 52-15 (.776) going into Wednesday.
