BIG EAST Player of the Week
Anaya Peoples, DePaul, Grad., G
Peoples earns top honors for the first time in her career after averaging 22.5 points, 8.0 rebounds, 3.0 assists, 2.5 steals, 1.5 blocks and .615 shooting in a 1-1 week for the Blue Demons. The graduate student guard began the week with a 28-point, seven-rebound performance as DePaul avenged its earlier loss to Providence by knocking off the Friars on Wednesday night. Peoples was 10-of-13 from the field and 8-of-9 from the free-throw line. She followed that with 17 points and a game-high nine rebounds in Saturday’s setback at No. 21 Creighton. Peoples’ points, rebounds, steals and blocks averages, along with her field goal percentage, all ranked in the top five in the BIG EAST last week, with her scoring average tied for tops among those with multiple game appearances.
BIG EAST Freshman of the Week
Savannah Catalon, Seton Hall, Fr., G
Catalon claims her first honor after averaging 13.5 points, 3.0 rebounds, 4.0 assists and .529 shooting in a 1-1 week for the Pirates. Catalon’s week was highlighted by a 21-point, four-rebound, six-assist outing against Xavier on Saturday. All were career bests for the rookie guard, who also was a perfect 7-of-7 from the charity stripe. She added six points and two assists in 19 minutes of action against No. 11 UConn on Wednesday. Catalon becomes the first Seton Hall rookie to claim BIG EAST Freshman of the Week since the 2018-19 season.

Mackayla Scarlett, Xavier, Sr., G – tied for the BIG EAST scoring lead last week with a 22.5 average; 26 points against No. 21 Creighton, 19 points at Seton Hall
