BIG EAST Player of the Week
Rosie Garcia, Jr., INF, UConn
Garcia fueled UConn’s 6-0 weekend at the Rainbow Wahine Classic, going 7-for-17 (.412) with two home runs, two doubles, five runs scored, and a team-best nine RBI. During the Huskies’ first game on Thursday, the junior delivered a massive three-run homer in the sixth inning to break up a scoreless pitcher’s duel for UConn’s second win of the weekend. Versus Cleveland State on Saturday, Garcia registered a game-best four RBI on four hits.
BIG EAST Pitcher of the Week
Kenzie Schopfer, Jr., P, Creighton
Schopfer tossed a complete game shutout in Creighton’s BIG EAST opener against St. John’s (W, 3-0). The right-handed pitcher struck out a career-high six batters while allowing just two hits and one walk for her first win of the season.
BIG EAST Freshman of the Week
Brooke Cwick, Fr., INF, DePaul
Cwick hit .364 (4-11) as the designated player during DePaul’s weekend series against Georgetown, scoring two runs and driving home five RBIs. Her RBI single on Saturday tied the game at 3-3 to force extra innings. During Sunday’s second game the freshman’s single in the six sent the winning run to the plate to give DePaul a 2-1 mark in conference play.

Payton Kinney, Sr., P., UConn
Kinney owned a 1.24 ERA over 11.1 innings, striking out 16 while picking up a pair of wins.
Brooke Johnson, 5th, 1B, DePaul
Johnson went 4-for-9 (.444) with four runs, two RBI, and a home run as DePaul took two from Georgetown this weekend.
Bella Nigey, So., P, DePaul
Nigey owned a 2.7 ERA with one win and one save, tossing nine innings across three appearances versus BIG EAST opponent, Georgetown. The sophomore struck out 13 over the course of the weekend.
London Jarrard, Jr., SS, St. John’s
Jarrard hit .444 (4-9) with two runs and five RBI as St. John’s opened conference play against Creighton.
Caroline Pellicano, Sr., P, Villanova
Pellicano picked up a win and a save in a pair of relief appearances against Seton Hall, throwing six scoreless innings with three strikeouts for a 0.00 ERA against the reigning BIG EAST Champions.
