UNCASVILLE, Conn. - Graceann Bennett had 16 points as No. 6 seed Georgetown never trailed in its 53-44 win over No. 3 St. John's in the quarterfinals of the BIG EAST women's basketball tournament on Saturday at Mohegan Sun Arena.
Kelsey Ransom had seven of her 13 points in the fourth quarter including a 3-pointer that put the Hoyas up by 10 points with 6:07 left to play.
Georgetown (21-10), which hadn't advanced to the semifinals since 2019, will face Creighton in Sunday's second semifinal at 5 p.m. on FS1.
The Hoyas jumped out to the early 10-0 lead after the Red Storm missed its first four shots and had a couple of turnovers.
St. John's did score the final four points of the second quarter to go into halftime down 25-16.
Jillian Archer had 16 points and Unique Drake added 10 points for St John's (17-14).
