Liberty, Quinnipiac Earn BIG EAST Field Hockey Weekly Honors

BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week
Lou Combrinck, Liberty, Jr., F (Hillcrest, South Africa)
Combrinck helped lead the Lady Flames to a 2-0 weekend, beating William & Mary 5-0 and then-No. 4 Duke 1-0. She had two goals and two assists on the weekend. Against William & Mary, Combrinck notched her first goal of the season and added two assists. She then tallied the game winner in the 48th minute against Duke. It was the only goal of the match from either team. 

BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week
Michaela Skinner, Liberty, R-So., GK (Chesapeake, Va.)
With Skinner in goal, the Lady Flames had two shutouts on the weekend. She had five saves in the win over then-No. 4 Duke. Skinner and the Liberty defense turned aside 10 total Duke shots and six penalty corner chances in the final 15 minutes of the match. This was the first time Liberty shutout Duke in what was the 10th ever meeting between the two squads. The 5-0 win over William & Mary was Skinner's first career shutout. 

BIG EAST Freshman of the Week
Francisca Eschoyez, Quinnipiac, Fr., D (Turin, Italy)
In Quinnipiac's 7-1 win over Merrimack, Eschoyez had four goals and one assist. Three of her goals came in the first 15 minutes of the game. In Quinnipiac's 3-2 loss to Lafayette, she had one goal, bringing her weekend total to five goals and one assist. 

BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll
Juul Sauer, UConn, Fr., F (Den Haag, The Netherlands)
Sauer had two goals against then-No. 7 Harvard and dished out one assist against Brown to help the Huskies in their 1-1 weekend. 

Gemma Lysaght, Villanova, So., D (Christchurch, New Zealand)
In Villanova's 1-1 weekend, Lysaght had two assists. She helped limit then-No. 13 Saint Joseph's to just seven penalty corners. She also helped lead the Wildcats defensive line to a shutout of La Salle. 

Sophie Perschk, UConn, Fr., F (Hamburg, Germany)
In UConn's win over Brown, Perschk scored three goals on three shots to help the Huskies to a shutout victory. 

Bo Martina, Providence, So., M (Nieuw Vennep, The Netherlands)
Martina scored a career-high five points on two goals and one assist in the Friars' 4-2 victory over Dartmouth. It marked the first multi-goal game of her career. 

Sabine de Ruijter, Villanova, Gr., F (Huizen, The Netherlands) 
Sabine de Ruijter scored one goal in each of the Wildcats' games this weekend, including a back-handed shot into the upper corner of the goal to seal a shutout win over La Salle.
