This Weekend in BIG EAST Play
Saturday’s slate includes four games – St. John’s at Seton Hall (1 p.m. – BEDN), Xavier at Villanova (2 p.m. – BEDN), Georgetown at Marquette (3 p.m. – BEDN), and UConn at Creighton (5:30 p.m. – FOX). Sloane Martin and Kim Adams will be on the call for the UConn-Creighton game. DePaul at Butler finishes the weekend at 2 p.m. on BEDN on Sunday.

Marquette 67 at Providence 54
Box Score
Marquette had three players score double figures in the team’s 67-54 win over Providence: Skylar Forbes (23), Jaidynn Mason (14) and Halle Vice (13). Vice added 11 rebounds for her fourth double-double of the season, while Mason added five rebounds, four assists and two steals. Marquette outscored Providence, 25-11, in the third quarter for a 52-39 lead heading into the fourth quarter. Mackayla Scarlett finished with 15 points, five rebounds and three steals and Olivia Olsen scored 13 points to go with five rebounds, two assists and two blocks for the Friars.
 
at #6 UConn 100, Villanova 57
Box Score
Paige Bueckers paced UConn to a 100-57 victory versus Villanova with 21 points, eight rebounds, nine assists and three steals. Sarah Strong led all players with 22 points while Kaitlyn Chen scored a season-high 17 points. KK Arnold added 11 points, three rebounds and two assists in the win. The Huskies shot 65.6% (40-61) from the field and 52.9% (9-17) from beyond the arc. Villanova’s Jasmine Bascoe finished with 15 points, including a season-high tying three 3-pointers, to go with a team-high four assists. Maddie Burke and Maddie Webber chipped in 11 points each, while Burke led the Wildcats with seven rebounds.
 
at Georgetown 56, St. John’s 54
Box Score
Georgetown’s Kelsey Ransom scored a last-second layup in the 56-54 win over St. John’s. Ransom finished with 28 points, five rebounds and two blocks. Ariel Jenkins recorded her sixth double-double of the season with 14 points and 12 rebounds. St. John’s had three players score double figures: Kylie Lavelle (15), Ber’Nyah Mayo (11) and Lashae Dwyer (10). The Red Storm outscored the Hoyas, 27-14, in the final quarter. St. John’s had a chance to tie the game at the buzzer with a layup by Mayo but the attempt was unsuccessful.
 
Creighton 63 at Butler 52
Box Score
Creighton remains undefeated in BIG EAST play after a 63-52 win at Butler on Wednesday night. Morgan Maly and Lauren Jensen combined for 46 points, with a game-high 24 points coming from Maly. Jensen’s 22 points came on 8-for-15 shooting, including five 3-pointers. Molly Mogensen was Creighton’s third player with double digits in points (11). Butler’s Kilyn McGuff registered her eighth double-double of the season with 15 points and 13 rebounds, and Sydney Jaynes finished with 16 points on 7-for-10 shooting.
 
at DePaul 57, Xavier 50
Box Score
In the 57-50 victory versus Xavier, Kate Clarke scored a game-high 15 points, including three 3-pointers in her first start for DePaul. Jorie Allen finished with 13 points for her 21st-straight game scoring double figures and had a season-high seven assists and six rebounds. Taylor Johnson-Matthews chipped in 12 points, five boards and three assists. Loren Christie paced Xavier with a game-high 16 points. Tae’lor Purvis added 11 points and a career-high six steals. The Musketeers scored 25 points off 25 forced turnovers. Xavier had four turnovers in the final minute while DePaul went 5-for-6 from the foul line in those 60 seconds to secure the 57-50 win.
