Old Dominion and Quinnipiac Earn 2025 BIG EAST Field Hockey Weekly Awards (10.14.25)

BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week
Sian Emslie, Old Dominion, R-Sr., M
Emslie tallied two goals in Old Dominion’s 4-1 victory over Villanova. The redshirt senior leads the team offensively with 19 points.
 
BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week
Cristina Torres, Quinnipiac, Sr., GK
Torres went 2-0 on the weekend, making 12 saves on 13 shots. She recorded nine saves and the game-winning stop in a 1-0 shootout win over Lafayette, and added three saves in a 2-1 conference win at Providence.
 
BIG EAST Freshman of the Week
Maaike Van Wensen, Quinnipiac, Fr., D
Van Wensen scored both goals in Quinnipiac’s 2-1 win at Providence, marking her first career multi-goal game. She also helped anchor the defense while playing all 80 minutes in Sunday’s 1-0 shootout victory over Lafayette.
 
BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll
Natalie McKenna, UConn, Jr., GK
McKenna totaled 12 saves on the weekend, making eight in a 1-0 overtime loss to No. 17 Yale and four in a 1-0 shutout win over Temple.
 
Kyleigh Faust, Liberty, R-Jr., D/M
Faust netted the game-winner in No. 7 Liberty’s 1-0 road win at Georgetown, marking her first goal in nearly two years.
 
Morena Giacosa, Liberty, Fr., D
Giacosa helped anchor Liberty’s defense in a 1-0 shutout at Georgetown, limiting the Hoyas to just two shots as the Flames recorded their sixth shutout of the season.
Bo Martina, Providence, Jr., M
Martina scored two goals in Providence’s 3-1 win over Sacred Heart.
 
Rozlyn Maciejewski, Temple, So., D/M
Maciejewski scored her first two career goals in Temple’s 6-0 win over Lock Haven, leading the Owls with four points on the week.
