BIG EAST Announces Women's Soccer Weekly Awards (10.6.25)

BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week
Natalie Means, Georgetown, Sr., F
In a 2-0 week versus Butler (5-0) and St. John’s (4-0), Means had a hand in six of the team’s nine goals as she scored four goals and dished two assists. In Wednesday’s victory against the Bulldogs, the senior recorded her first career hat trick. She rounded out the week with one goal and a season-high two assists at St. John’s.

BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week
Clare Shea, Marquette, Fr., D
Shea led a back line that held St. John's and DePaul to a combined eight shots overall, just three of which were on goal. She also scored the team's third goal in the 3-1 win over St. John's.

BIG EAST Goalkeeper of the Week
Cara Martin, Georgetown, Sr., GK
Martin recorded a pair of shutouts last week against Butler and St. John’s for her fifth and sixth shutouts of the season. The senior made two saves in the 5-0 victory versus the Bulldogs. This is her third goalkeeper of the week honor this year.

BIG EAST Freshman of the Week
Coco Dorfman, Marquette, Fr., M

Dorfman finished a 2-0 week against St. John’s and DePaul with six points. In the 3-1 win over St. John’s, the freshman assisted on two goals. She then scored two goals, including the game winner in the 4-1 victory versus DePaul on Saturday. 

BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll
Lily Gibbs, Providence, Fr., F

Gibbs scored the second goal in the team’s 2-0 triumph versus Seton Hall. 

Stephanie Schoeley, Providence, So., D
Schoeley scored the game-winning goal versus Seton Hall in the 15th minute and helped hold the Pirates to three shots.

Chioma Okafor, UConn, Sr., F
Okafor scored the game-winning goal at Providence for her third game-winner of the season. 

Hannah Dickinson, Villanova, Sr., GK
Dickinson earned her fifth shutout of the year as she made two saves in the 1-0 win over DePaul.

Reese Slater, Xavier, Jr., M
Slater collected three points on a goal and an assist as the Musketeers went 2-0 last week. She also helped the Musketeer defense limit Creighton to just two shots on goal, and then holding Butler off the board for Xavier’s seventh shutout of the season.
