NEW YORK – UConn sophomore forward Sarah Strong averaged 21.0 points, 9.5 rebounds and 4.5 assists in a 2-0 week to be named the BIG EAST Player of the Week. DePaul freshman guard Ally Timm averaged 20.5 points, 2.0 rebounds, 2.0 steals, and 1.5 assists in a 1-1 week.

Georgetown junior guard Khia Miller, Marquette junior forward Skylar Forbes, Seton Hall senior guard Jordana Codio, UConn graduate student guard Azzi Fudd, and Villanova sophomore guard Jasmine Bascoe were named to this week's honor roll.

BIG EAST Player of the Week
Sarah Strong, UConn, So., F
Strong averaged 21.0 points, 9.5 rebounds, 4.5 assists, 2.0 blocks, and 2.0 steals in a 2-0 week in wins over #20 Louisville and Florida State. She recorded a double-double with 21 points, 10 rebounds, five assists, two blocks, and two steals in the season opener vs. Louisville. Strong then had 21 points (7-10 FG), 9 rebounds, and 4 assists in just 23 minutes vs. Florida State.

BIG EAST Freshman of the Week
Ally Timm, DePaul, R-Fr., G

Timm averaged 20.5 points per game, 2.0 steals, 1.5 assists and 2.0 rebounds in a 1-1 week with a 92-54 victory over Valparaiso and a loss to MWC preseason favorite UNLV. In the victory over Valparaiso, she had a career-high 28 points behind a blistering 80 percent shooting from behind the arc. The guard added two rebounds, two assists and four steals in the outing. In the loss against UNLV, she finished with 13 points, two rebounds and one block.

Khia Miller, Georgetown, Jr., G
Miller scored 17 points in the 90-45 win over Stonehill College, followed by 18 points against #10 Maryland.
 
Skylar Forbes, Marquette, Jr., F
Forbes averaged 19.0 points to lead Marquette to two wins during the opening week of play (89-57 vs Winthrop, 65-62 OT vs Wisconsin). Against Wisconsin, she was held to one point through three quarters but scored 18 of the team's final 28 points in the win. 
 
Jordana Codio, Seton Hall, Sr., G/F
Codio scored a game-high 20 points in 16 minutes of work in the team's 88-39 win over Saint Peter's on Tuesday night. The UTexas transfer was 7-for-13 for the game, including 2-for-5 from three-point range.
 
Azzi Fudd, UConn, Gr., G
Fudd finished opening week averaging 21.5 points in victories over #20 Louisville and Florida State. In the home win against FSU, the graduate student scored 23 points on 9-for-15 shooting from the field. She added five assists and two steals.

Jasmine Bascoe, Villanova, So., G
Bascoe averaged 19.9 points in the 2-1 week for Villanova. Against Fairfield, she scored a career-high 30 points on 12-for-25 shooting, to go with eight boards and three steals.
