BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week
Ava Martin, Sr., OH, Creighton
Martin led the league with 5.14 kills per set as Creighton defeated Villanova (3-1) and Georgetown (3-0) to match the BIG EAST record for most consecutive regular season conference wins (45). Against the Wildcats, the BIG EAST Preseason Player of the Year logged a match-high 23 kills and a season-best 14 digs on .286 hitting. Versus the Hoyas, Martin once again led the match with 13 kills on .370 hitting.
BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week
Hattie Bray, Gr., MB, Marquette
Bray averaged a BIG EAST-best 2.00 blocks per set and 3.00 kills per set on a league-leading .533 hitting as Marquette swept St. John’s and Seton Hall at home. Against the Red Storm, the graduate student registered seven kills and six blocks on .636 hitting. Versus the Pirates, she contributed 11 kills and six blocks on .474 hitting. Her efforts helped Marquette hold opponents to a league-low .049 hitting.
BIG EAST Setter of the Week
Annalea Maeder, Sr., S, Creighton
Maeder dished out a BIG EAST-best 10.29 assists per set while averaging 2.71 digs per set in victories over Villanova and Georgetown. She was the match-leader in assists in both outings, contributing 43 helpers and 12 digs against Villanova and 29 assists with seven digs and two kills against Georgetown. Maeder’s efforts supported the Bluejays to a league-leading .316 hitting percentage this week.
BIG EAST Freshman of the Week
McKinley Boehm, RS-Fr., MB, Xavier
Boehm averaged 1.43 blocks and 1.43 kills per set as Xavier defeated Providence (3-0) and UConn (3-1) on the road. Against the Friars, the redshirt freshman contributed five blocks and five kills. In Storrs, Boehm posted a match-high five blocks with five kills and three digs.
Honor Roll
Emma Werkmeister, Sr., OH, UConn
Werkmeister paced UConn with 4.63 kills per set while leading the league with 5.44 points per set in a 1-1 week. In Saturday’s setback to Xavier (L, 1-3), Werkmeister recorded a match-best 23 kills with eight digs, two aces, and one block. With her second ace of the night, the senior broke the BIG EAST single-season in-conference ace record (37).
Sophia Adkins, So., OH, Providence
Adkins averaged 4.57 kills per set as Providence bounced back from a 0-3 loss to Xavier to defeat Georgetown, 3-1. Against the Hoyas, the sophomore recorded a double-double with a match-high 24 kills and 11 digs.
Abby Harrell, Jr., OH, Villanova
Harrell led Villanova with 4.57 kills per set on .300 hitting as the Wildcats split the week against Georgetown (W, 3-0) and Creighton (L, 1-3). Against Georgetown, the junior contributed a double-double with match-high 16 kills and 11 digs.
Emma Grace, RS-Sr., OH, Xavier
Grace averaged 4.29 kills and 2.57 digs per set on .324 hitting as Xavier defeated Providence and UConn on the road. The redshirt senior logged her 41st career double-double against the Huskies with 21 kills and 12 digs.
Anna Taylor, RS-Sr., RS, Xavier
Taylor averaged 4.14 kills per set on .364 hitting as the Musketeers picked up a pair of wins. In Friday’s sweep of Providence, Taylor recorded a match-high 14 kills.
